These appear to be out of stock everywhere. Anybody know where one can be purchased or have a good alternative? Thanks

I picked up a squaring tool on Archery Talk from a guy who 3D prints them out. Cheap and simple

I use a dirt simple, extremely fast, almost free method. I drilled a hole the diameter of an arrow in a 6" piece of 4x4 wood block with my drill press. Insert arrow vertically and rub block on top of wet/dry sand paper, which rests on top of a piece of machinist's flat granite. Granite isn't cheap, but a small pane of glass is. Three strokes, rotating arrow in between, and you have a perfectly squared arrow.

I tried the 3D printed arrow square after using my cheap rig for a couple of years. Definitely not an improvement. Far too flexible for me, and the arrow rubs on a tiny piece of sand paper. Neither faster nor better than my "free" method.

The best quality i've seen is the firenock one. I use the G5 cuz I haven't had a good reason to upgrade yet and extra cash isn't really happening for me these days.

Bass Pro shows one in stock, call your local bow shop, I think both local shops here have them on the wall. IMO the G5 is about the best tool out, I’ve had mine for years and squared hundreds of arrows on it and it is still going strong. Just used it yesterday for a dozen arrows. There are several other options, homemade ones are big and 3D printer and home made ones use sand paper which wears out and needs replace.

I think the firenock device would be good for a person who had a bow shop or does a lot of work but I really like the G5 being small and you can just toss it in a small box with other equipment and it needs no setup or maintenance.

Thanks @nphunter I actually thought I scored one last night via Bass Pro but when I went to complete the order and it said they were actually out of stock and cancelled it. My local shop is out and G5 is back ordered. Given how inexpensive the eBay ones are, might give those a try until I can track down the G5. The Firenock looks nice but is probably more than I need. Thanks everyone.

I really didn't care for the G5, makes a horrible squeaking with the carbon and you have to figure out how to anchor it to the table while your rotating. My building experience greatly improved with the Firenock, probably one of the best investments I've made yet. I'm sure their jig is similar, really want to get one of those suckers.

You hold the G5 in one hand and the arrow in the other, mine has never squeaked unless the head was on the aluminum arrow cutting side trying to do carbon.

Yeah I've done all that, I understand the G5 is the old standby, and I know it works. The Firenock is just so much more enjoyable. Literally the best thing I did for arrow building. Makes me want to try some of their other products. Their arrow rest looks crazy. Eventually I'll buy one of their jigs.

I have a G5 and a Firenock one. No comparison between the two, the Firenock is a much better piece of equipment. Zac, I also used to have a couple of the Firenock jigs and their rests and nocks when I had my archery shop. Dorge makes excellent gear.

I guess the best option would be to drop 600 on the new arrow saw from Last Chance. Has a built in square that looks super slick.
