So this time of year, I'm wearing these Outdoor research cirque work pants. These are Gen 1 and discontinued. They are the best fitting, have just enough stretch, pocket layout is awesome and repel water. (not a fan of the hammer loop but oh well) The reinforced knees are spot on as well.

Here's a link for reference https://www.enwild.com/outdoor-research-mens-cirque-work-pants.html

It's a combo of nylon, polyester and spandex. The gen 2 and 3 are totally different and I hate zippered pockets. The eddie bauer's aren't nearly as durable, but do come close.

Anyone have anything similar that I could give a try?

I have a few items I like that are discounted, I have set up a eBay, Poshmark etc notifications. You won't find them tomorrow but you'll find a few pairs a year in your size

Welcome to the golden age of pants! What are the key features that you’re looking for? Sounds like fit, pockets, water resistance and reinforced knees?

I'm on the same mission man. I also hate zippered front hand pockets!! Are guys losing stuff out of their deep front pockets? This has never happened to me.

When looking at a mid weight pant or lighter weight fleece lined pant these zippered pockets are very common.

I feel the same way about having chest and arm pockets as well. These are pointless for layering.

Heck, I'd go as far as saying I don't even want rear pockets. Max is one non-zip rear pocket. I don't want to sit on a zipper and I don't carry my wallet in my rear pocket anyway. I don't know what the big deal is about so many pockets.

In my opinion (not worth much) I just want two front normal pockets, two cargo pockets on the front and one front zip pockets. Like these but without that tiny little pocket (pocket knife maybe?) and the rear zip. To me this is adding unnecessary cost to the pant with very low practicality.

These might be an option. Close to what I want - light fleece lined though for you.

Help me out Tony! haha

Durable, thicker material, reinforced knees, NO zippered front pockets and some type water repellent, and a bit of stretch.

This time of year on a daily basis I could be using the chain saw, kneeling in snow, gutting a deer, running to town etc. I don't want to have to change clothes. In summer, the wrangler/eddie bauer do the job, but now I want a bit more durability and water resistance.

@Bump79 in the picture it looks like born primitive pants. I have a pair-they are decent, but the pockets they do have I could stuff a small child in. I also never put anything in a back pocket, but if I did my wallet would be whacking me in the back of the lower thigh. Who field tests this stuff?!

I have put a lot of days on the outdoor research cirque lite pants this year and really like them.

No rear pockets but the other three are zippered. I found that I liked the zippers. I also like the the little ankle gaiter zippers.
