I’ve used the hybrid 26 the last few years, but getting tired of the poor durability. I shoot four fletch. I’m looking for a similar weight and height vane that is more durable.

I don’t mind the hybrid 26 but I agree they are soft. I prefer aae max stealth, they have held up great. Small touch heavier but thicker. If you’re looking for lighter bohning heat are hard to beat. Also q2i x-ii in 2.5 are a great choice. Iv have run all them in 3 and 4 fletch zero issues. Currently running aae max on most my arrows.

I believe flex fletch makes a line of no prep vanes as well

I just switched away from the hybrid 26s due to their abysmal durability. The max stealth is way tougher, but you have to use a primer pen. Bohning x3 or alpha vanes may be a solid alternative; no prep needed and same material as the heat vanes, similar length and height to the hybrid 26s. Q2i vanes are also extremely tough and don’t need special/extra prep.

I don't get why people get so twisted up over the primer pen- it's one extra step which is annoying but I think it's worth it for the max stealth. They're tough as heck and don't come off easily.
For myself, it’s because there’s plenty of good options that don’t require it. If max stealths (or any other vane requiring it) were significantly better, I’d use them. I just didn’t think the stealths offered me enough benefit to deal with it. The q2i vanes I’ve used are equally tough, as are the bohning heats/other vanes with that same material. No extra prep, and I couldn’t hear or shoot a difference between aae hybrids/max stealth and bohning x3s.

Q2i Vanes are tougher for sure. No prep needed.

I've also shot Easton Diamond 280 as well which is like 26 profile. They are flexible and have almost a rubbery material. Stick stupid good and have no memory to speak of.

I can send you some to test.

Thanks for the replies. I’m debating max stealth 3 fletch, griff x 3” 3 fletch or bohning alpha 4 fletch

Just shoot the max stealths w/ three at a slight offset/helical. The 3 seconds it takes to pen them is easily offset by the durability, noise, steering, etc.

The durability of the AAE Max Stealths is why I keep using them. Primer pen isn’t that big of a deal IMO. I’ve had arrows blow through old/brittle 3D targets and vanes hold perfect. Never actually tore a vane off unless I actually shot it off with a closely spaced subsequent shot.

Any of those will work in 3 and 4 fletch. Fletch up couple of each see what you think fly best for you. Honestly all will perform just whichever one gives you confidence or warm an fuzzy inside

If anyone wants to send me 9 hybrid 26s via snail mail to try I'd appreciate it. I have some of the 23 hybrids and been pleased so far but probably need a little more steering and would like to try. Is there any difference between the 23 and 26 hybrid other than length?

Overall shape is the same but that’s about it. The 23 are shorter in length and height. The 23s I believe are .38 while the 26s are .50 in height. They weigh about 3 grain difference

I use and Love Max Stealths and 4 fletch hybrid 23's, messing with the Airrazrs now. They are great, get a little wavy though if you put them through the target.

Another vote for Max Stealths. I've shot them for the last 4 years in a 4 fletch with some helical. I've never had one come off. The primer pen adds less than 5 seconds per arrow and I find it worth it. They've steered everything from Iron Will fixed blades to mechanicals with no issues.
