I thought I had pretty much settled on the SWFA 3-9 for my 7mm-08 hunting rifle, but after doing some research, it looks like they're pretty hard to find, and if I do end up locating one, I wonder what turn around time would be on a warranty issue . I'm not opposed to a fixed 10x, but am curious what other 3-9 scoped would contend with the SWFA. I know it performs above its price point, but I'm pretty sure I'll be impressed with most of your suggestions being a guy with most of my experience with low end vortex and Athlon optics. Credo is one I'm considering. I'm thinking max hunting shot would be inside 400, but would like to shoot steel farther for fun.

It all depends what you want to spend. Ffp or sfp?

You could get the 3-15 swfa, I picked up a used gen 1 10x for like $180 a while back and its a great scope. Trijicon huron , nightforce. Many good options. Id maybe just watch the classifieds for a while to see what pops up.

I'm hoping to stay under 750. I'm not looking to go ultralight, but am giving preference to lighter weight

They aren't all that hard to turn up. I cant say the warranty has ever swayed my decision to buy something.

I would just buy one when it comes up on the classifieds. The closest thing to it in quality is another SWFA, a more expensive Trijicon or Maven RS 1.2, or the more expensive new S2H 3-18x44.

SWFA is selling a demo model on eBay right now. They pop up on here, all the time.

As someone else mentioned, the SWFA 3-15 is a good comparable option. That also comes with turret caps and a zero stop. Which, I think, is an advantage over the 3-9 model.
