Does anyone have any experience with the Tasmanian 2 or 3 tent. I just want to get some input about this tent. Looking at purchasing one as a four season tent just don’t want to spend 500 to 600 dollars in a north face or other expensive brands.

I have the Tasmanian 2 person. It has been great for me when I need it. I don’t pack it very much because it is heavy. The foot print with the rain fly is very long rather than wide. The rain fly is a huge piece. I slept one night in a blizzard and woke up a few times to bump the snow load off. Other than that it worked great. I’m sure the modern name brands are better build quality and materials and probably a few pounds lighter. If I planned to pack my four season regularly I would try to save for a lighter weight version unless splitting it with someone else. Let me know if you have specific questions, I’ll see if I can answer them.

Thank you for the information! How long have you had it? Do you see any issues after the time you have had it ? The quality for the price would you say it is good quality to stay safe in semi harsh conditions? How waterproof is the floor?

I have had mine for 10 years maybe more. It had a little moisture spotting on the tent fabric under the rain fly. Thats probably from me managing it poorly. I think the quality for price is there. It will keep you dry and safe. I never had issues with the floor leaking but I have not camped in a river either. There are lots of guy out points on the rain fly and they need to be used to keep it super tight in high winds. The placement and angle of the points could be better. The tent stakes and guy lines it comes with can be upgraded pretty easily for better experience. Comparing to high end gear is would say the purpose is there, it does what it’s supposed to do. The refinement and maybe a little engineering is missing.
