Alpaca socks?

I went to the ISE show in Denver yesterday and found Alpacas of Montana. The socks are supposed to be tougher than merino and the fibers are supposed to dry quicker and stay that way as they explained it to me. The hair is not wool and every hair is hollow for it's entire length. I bought two pairs to try out at work and see if I like them. Anyone else tried them? They are priced like Darn Tough merino socks. ( Although not the same warranty)

I've heard of them but never tried, run smartwool and lorpan wool socks. Next time I see some I might have to give a pair a try I like the idea.
