All paid up!

Too bad about the processor issues but I’d like to hear the hunt story!
I posted this earlier to a different thread, but I'll copy it here.

I'll try to make it make sense. The guide did everything possible, and was very experienced, but if there aren't any bulls in the zone, there's nothing he could do to make them appear. We had plenty of cows, and only one seemed to be going into estrus. We put on miles of hiking from ridge to ridge, both of us hunters, and guide as well as a guest the other hunter brought glassed, and called until I decided to take a dry cow which turned out to be a very old bull with no antlers. Two days later the other hunter and guide saw a 5 point harassing the one cow in estruss and took that one. The bad part with them is they seem unorganized with hunter placement, game retrival, communication, and paperwork. I was told 4 different locations to fly from to camp, my license was initially given to a wrong hunter, my guide texted the coordinates of my meat, but the chopper didn't come the day we were told and when they did the pilot said no one gave him the coordinates, so I flew with him to get the meat, and then flew back to camp again. I was told I'd be back to my truck by noon and I'd would easily make the ferry that night. we didn;t get picked up from camp until 5:15 and were flown back to a different location than where my truck was. I got the helicoptor pilot to drive me to my truck. I was told the meat processor was 10 minutes north, it's almost 40 minutes away north. I got to the ferry literaly as they were shutting the door, they'd already canceled my ticket and room, but they sold me a ticket without a room, I was the last vehicle on the boat. The next day I found out that there was paperwork no one had told me about that I did't have. Luckily I got ahold of them from the border and they texted me pictures of the paperwork which didn't make the border crossing go very well

I hope that time makes the memories of the issues fade away

The actual hunt went well aside from there being no palmated bull anywhere near us, probably too soon for the rut. The guide and camp hostess were wonderful! He has 40 years of experience, and 15 years at that camp. It was perfect, we ate too much, laughed too much, and all got along great. We got into camp around 10 or 11:00am on day 1, spotted caribou, and bear along with a couple cow moose. Day 2 we walked about 4mi seeing more of the same. Day 3 covered 8-10mi of even more of the same. Sunday rolled around and there was no mention of using spike camps, and there was talk of possible rain by Tuesday, so I told the guide I'd be willing to take a cow. After crossing the lake, and glassing some more I spotted one from the previous couple days. We closed from a half mile to 250yds, but tree limbs gave me a bad target. The guide said he thought we could get closer, the other hunter stayed behind. We moved off to the right as we closed in, crossed a small stream followed by crossing a wider creek with good current coming from the lake. We climbed the hillside, and came across the tree line behind the cow. The cow stood up to my left maybe 50 feet away, I quickly chambered a round in my Ruger 77, 358 Winchester and hit it high in the lungs dropping it in its tracks. As it turned out, she was a he, an old, old bull with no antlers. The guide made quick work quartering, and deboning, as I carried bags of meat to the hill top for helicopter retrieval. After getting back to camp, I celebrated with a dunking in the lake, a shower, and a drink.
