All new Burris Fullfield 2025

I saw where Burris is discontinuing all fullfield lines in favor of just one. The New Burris Fullfield is 4x zoom, illumination, option for custom turret, exposed turrets that are interchangeable with capped turrets for guys who don’t dial, and sub 500 dollar for all models. The one I’m interested in particularly is the 2-8x35 model that’s 9.5 inches long and only 13 oz. At 170 bucks and made in the Philippines (thank god not China). These seem like they could do very well if they hold zero. I may grab a few because I’ve heard nothing but good things about the previous Fullfields that were not Chinese.

I like Burris, but the lack of mounting space on that scope is a non-starter.

I wish someone still made an affordable compact 4x. So useful for many uses and not having a telescope mounted to a trim rifle.

I’ve had good luck with Burris products. Not high end by any means, but always functional and reliable.

@gr8fuldoug talked me into a Sightron, it’s been great so far for smaller budget scope. Got it on my daughters rifle. Have a Burris on one of my other kid’s rifles, also been happy with it.

I put a Burris Drop tine on my backpacking rifle. From what i gathered it was basically the old Fullfield II. I took it on a 500 mile road trip including a very rough road to the trail head. Packed it for a week, in the hand and on the pack, and when I got home, I checked zero and it was right on. For a set and forget scope, I'm pretty happy with it. That being said, I had a Full Field IV, and it was a giant pile of bear scat.

I guess the big question is whether this has more in common with the Fullfield II/Droptinr/E1 or the Chinese Fullfield IV.

They looked intriguing when I first saw them. The 2-8 will be a mounting nightmare, with that foot print it'll have to go on a full length rail. So if you prefer 2 pc bases, it's non starter. What concerns me about them is that the print on the website states "multi-coated lenses" which are NOT the same as "fully multi-coated lenses". I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that the previous lines were fully multi-coated. I follow the Burris facebook page, when they posted the introduction of these, I questioned the multi-coating and as of today, they haven't answered the question on that post. The prices on the 2-8 and 2.5-10 are under $200, but it jumps up quickly for the other models, and I can't think of ONE single reason I'd spend money like that on a scope that isn't fully multi-coated. The difference between multi-coated and fully multi-coated is a big difference.

In the video he mentions the elevation knobs can have a turret added - either capped or exposed and both would have a zerostop.

I had one of these turrets on an earlier Fullfield but it didn’t have a stop or anyway to add a washer or mark the rotations. It was a great scope for a backup rifle my buddy ended up needing on a backcountry elk hunt. We noticed the knob got turned and had no idea clockwise or counter clockwise. We had to shoot a few times to confirm.
Frustrating so this sounds like a big improvement.

I'm a little bit skeptical that the new Fullfield is going to track well enough to dial with on a regular basis. I recall the old Fullfield doing well in the drop test, but I'm not too interested in set-it-and-forget scopes. And who knows how similar the designs are. I'd love to be proved wrong.
