Anyone else have problems with their AGC squeaking whenever there's a little humility outside? The squeak is between the rubberized coating of my bino's and the inner lining of the bino harness when moving. It is terribly annoying when moving while hunting, e.g. when adjusting for a shot on a turkey this past spring. For reference, I have a pair of older Vortex binos. Isn't as much of a problem if it's real cold out and humidity is low.

Any proposed solutions? I guess tape up my binos with felt tape or something?

Do the newer Vortexes or other binos have a harder coating that's might be less prone to squeaking? The older ones have a softer rubber on the outside.

I had that same issue a few years back. Wasn't a problem for elk hunting really, but for whitetails that squeak could ruin a hunt. At first I changed harnesses to a muley freak but didn't like it as much as the AGC.
I was running some Vortex Talon 10x42 and the problem had to do with the rubber coating they used. For a while I wrapped the ends of each barrel with Lueko Tape which seemed to fix it temporarily. The tape would need to be replaced every few weeks. Also, i felt like the light colored tape circles would spook a deer, so I used some facepaint to darken it up.

The next season I upgraded binos (ELs) and the squeaking went away. That vortex coating was just a hair too "sticky".

I have SLCs and they hang up a bit on pulling out or placing in....no squeak though.

Do any of you have issues with AGH shifting down lower on you with a pack on? I adjust it nice a snug up high where I want it but after having pack on for a bit the whole AGH rotates down.

Replace the standard buckles with the locking ones from Kifaru.

Yeah, i fixed it by getting the right size. I had 10x42 in a cub model, bought the correct size and the squeak went away!

It's not that the buckles loosten up it's the whole harness with straps rotates on my shoulders.

Mine did exactly what yours is doing. I put a coulpe strips of black electrical tape down the sides of my binds to alleviate the problem. I wil admit i believe its a sizing issue though. My Leopold cascades did not make the squeak but when I got my new Zeiss victory HT’s (much larger bino although both were 10x42) they squeezed every time i took them out.

I have the same issue. I feel like the harness is just too big and and the chest strap don't pull up tight enough. Pair that with the fact that the buckles suck and they all slip constantly. I'll be replacing the buckles before this years hunt.

My harness squeaked with my Meopta 10x42. I took some of the felt stuff with the sticky backing used on bows to line the inside of the bino harness. This helped quite a bit.

Good to know that other people have the problem. And that other binos do it too somewhat. I would hate to upgrade binos and still have the squeak. I plan to upgrade eventually but not next on my list. I'll find something to tape em with.

I also just got kifaru locking buckles. I dont have the problem with the whole harness shifting with pack though. I live in white tail country and the squeak sucks in close range situations.
