Alaskan Brown Bear hunt pics

Here are some pics from my recent Southwest Alaska Coastal Brown Bear hunt. I hunted with Outfitter Justin Johns. I went with 2 other buddies and we went 3 for 3. Flew into Dillingham and then took a float plane back into the Togiak Refuge. I hunted along the coast of the Bering Sea. Had a great trip. It was a little slow at first but once we got a shooter located the hunt/stalk was a blast. Definitely exciting. Comfortable accommodations and food for sure. I used a 300 RUM with the Barnes 200gr LRX bullet. It was a last minute change after my .375 H&H got screwy. It worked great. I used a Paradox pack and it performed well and I'd like to thank Nathan and Kevin for that. Nice lightweight, strong, comfortable pack for my body type.

I also used an Iridium GO! satellite wifi device and it worked great. I was very pleased with the performance of it. I'll post more info on that in another thread.

Congrats! Looks like a great time. As you say, a topic for another thread but I would like to hear more about the Iridium Go and your experiences. Moreover, how you used it, what worked and what didn't, overall costs, etc.

My shot was 60-70 yds. This was only the 4th bear I saw. My buddies both saw a lot more bears. One buddy killed one about this size and the other guy killed a 10ft monster bear.

I'm curious about the Iridium Go as well. I have the Iridium WiFi Axcess point and all I have managed to do with it is burn 30 min of call time trying to get it to work!!

Craig, the access point was apparently a bomb. The GO! worked well for me. I started a thread on it in the general forum. Hopefully that will answer your questions.

Congrats on a great hunt sir!!! Liked the pics and would like to see more of them!! Heading to Southwest Alaska for the first time in my life on a designated brown bear hunt with my wife and father tomorrow. Neither have taken a brown bear or grizz so should be a great time.
