I’m hoping to get reviews on transporters for a DIY float moose hunt. I don’t have an area in mind although I was hoping to be in an area that moose density is good and there is a chance of also seeing caribou for a combo hunt. Several years out so lots of planning time. I am hoping to be able to do a float hunt just for the adventure aspect of it.

If you got money, Papa Bear and Renfros is the easy button. Hard to get in, but tons of moose, any bull area, can rent gear or use yours.

The demand for DIY fly-in hunts far exceeds the supply. Caribou hunts are becoming very difficult as herds diminish. Eastern Alaska moose suffered from bad winters so Western or central Alaska would be a better choice.

What vern said. Some areas in Alaska are hurting currently. Thanks to the internet everyone is gonna end up on the same place for the next decade. Cost of operating in Alaska is all that’s currently saving this state from being slammed with people.
Downside is as a transporter flying DIY people out…you need to be moving lots of people to make it pay.
