A lot of it has to do with time of year, and what part of the state you've taken the bear in. but like ram hunter said, theres a crap ton of parasites in em and many choose not to take the risk.

Lucky you got in and out of there. The Cold Bay FAA cam shows the volcano blowing it's top this morning.

LOL...yea I see that!...we flew right by that volcano a few times!.....lots of bear tracks in the snow up on the volcano too! Looks like the weather is still awesome & the wind blowing from the north!
