Anybody here have experience with this particular tent? I know their other Artic Oven tents are held in high regard, and I may get one of those instead, but I’m looking at this one purely for weight savings. Seems as though there is very little online about these so Im just looking for your personal experience with it and if you regret not getting a different one of theirs or someone else’s.

It’ll be for three guys on cots, with a stove, and all of our gear on a lake hunt that’s going to be around 18 days long. It’ll be used here in the lower 48 as well for late season elk hunts getting packed in by goats.

I have this tent. It’s a nice roomy tent for 2, it would honestly be rough for 3. You would need a separate shelter for your gear. It’s definitely a huge step up from the standard teepee tents, it has more head room and 100x better liner and you won’t deal with condensation on the level of others. It has an actual door to walk through. It’s sturdier in the wind. It’s easier to pitch. Although I’ve spent 12-13 nights in it now, I’m not thoroughly convinced it’s the end all be all. I’m not all that convinced that floorless is the best idea in wet environments like Alaska. For me it’s either continue with this and I will next year or back to dome styles. Although at 6’2” I hate crawling into a tent, I far more hate all the issues with a SO teepee. I have 0 plans of using that ever again. Can’t comment on kifaru but it’s a teepee, so that’s a hard pass for me. This tent makes a nice sturdy shelter to count on in Alaska. I would say it’s one of the better options, I’m hesitant to fully recommend though.

With how much arctic ovens weigh they are worth their weight in staying warm (pun intended) stayed in an AO for an alaskan moose hunt, and it ruined it for me, now I'm saving to buy my own

The Nunatak is intriguing. I considered buying one last year but ended up taking the SO 8 tipi again. I wonder about the durability of the halo assembly on the Nunatak. It’s fairly new, and has been updated, so there’s not a lot of real reviews yet.

It appears that 280Rem has had a bad experience with the SO tipi. Ours has been good after 3 trips to AK despite some serious winds. It might feel a little small for 3 guys with gear. For my wife and I, it’s been very good.
