Alaska brown bear season….updated as season progresses

First client of the season has come and gone. Baits are getting worked over fairly well. Three baits currently going and one is running 2-3 bags of dog food a night so I’m busy flying.
First
Clients bear approx 25” skull and a shade under 9’ is my guess. I never put a tape on it.

Second client hammered a whopper. 27” skull. Approx mid 9’ old boar. 30 yards.

3rd client (brother of 2nd client) got his bear the same morning. About an 8’ boar.

Third group got hammered with some crap
Weather and brown bears slowed way down. Ended up with two 7’ range bears with fantastic hides and two black bears. Which are aplenty. Some other bear pics working the baits this past week.

It was a pleasure hunting with you Jake! Anyone looking to have an amazing hunt look no further. Seen countless black bears. Hunt 24 hours and live in the blind. I took a great black bear and a beautiful brown bear. May not have been the biggest in the mountains but it was a perfect blondish hide. Can’t say enough about Jake and the hunt. Not to mention the bush flight is worth the trip! Thanks again Jake!!!

Nice coats are sometimes hard to find. Bears come out the den rubbed in April and some never rub. Just a matter of looking over each bear. But there’s no pattern or timing to coat quality.
