Alabama Public Land

I have been turkey hunting for a while now. I am going to try public land hunting in Alabama this year. Probably at the Cahaba river WMA does anyone have any experience hunting here. Are there any other public land spots near Birmingham that would be worth checking out for turkeys?

You're probably not going to get many responses, particularly close to the biggest city in the state.
Turkey hunting in AL is a big deal.
I'd look at Talladega NF is about a 1.5 hrs away.
Tuskegee NF wouldn't be a bad place to look either. A bit further
