Airlock Industries Zero Gravity 7mm Suppressor field test and review

Too many suppressors really isn't a "thing" :)
Hahaha!
Given the amount of agonizing I did over buying my first one and f'ing it up, it's tough to convince myself (or my wife!) that I should buy two more. I was supposed to have one can that I swapped as needed.
I do like your logic though 🙃

Airlock is really finding a niche that hasn’t quite been filled. My 7mm is just waiting to be shipped.

With this suppressor targeted for the hunting market, why does it have a finish that it has? I'd like one, but I'd immediately buy a lightweight cover for it.

What’s wrong with the finish? It’s a minimalistic ultralight hunting can. Cerakote adds $, though I would imagine that’s an option down the road.

The finish looks like it'd be a beaconing mirror on a sunny day

Nah, super dull texture to it. I can’t see an issue with game seeing it if that’s your concern. But if your worried about it, LS Wild cover weighs nothing and negates mirage as wellIMG_9273.jpeg

Compared Zg7 to Scythe, Og65 and OG30 this am. I was shooting an 18" .223AI bolt action. Sound wise, ZG was noticeable the quietest. I could literally here the firing pin drop. Scythe was next, followed pretty close by the OG65 and a ways off was the OG30.

Mirage- All were shot with LS wild covers on. ZG7, Scythe and OG65 were almost identical in mirage for me. All started to show mirage around shot 6 but not enough to affect shooting 10 shot strings. OG30 had almost no mirage at shot 10.

ZG7 surpasses expectations by a wide margin. I bought this for a 6.5PRC build, but while I wait for that barrel to arrive, I think it will live on a 22CM.

Has it been mentioned anywhere if these index off the shoulder or off the muzzle/crown?

EDIT: they index off the muzzle.

Not that I’ve seen, but I assumed all suppressors lock up on the shoulder. Since I realize this is an assumption, I’m probably wrong and something out there locks up on the muzzle.

Any comments on the recoil reduction of the Zg7 bs the Scythe Ti with the brake? Trying to decide if I keep my Scythe or not

For me, recoil is really hard to tell much of a difference. The OG30 seemed to do the least on recoil control but I think that with it being so much louder than the others, it might be more of a noise reaction. I compared my Scythe with a buddy's a few months ago. He took off the brake end cap and just went with a 30 cal cap. We both agreed that mine with the break on it, recoiled less and wasn't much different on sound.

I'm keeping my Scythe and (trying) to sell the OG30. I prefer a quieter can.
