Airline Compliant Carry on Pack with Meat Hauling Capability?

Due to some time constraints during this years elk season I may be flying to some of my elk hunts this coming season. Does anyone know of any good airline compliant packs that I can carry on that also have a meat shelf for hauling out meat? I'm a Mystery Ranch guy so I know the Popup 28 is an option (I think), are there any others I should be considering?

This is another reason I was looking at the MR pop up 28. I don't use luggage - only backpacks - for all my travel.

Yeah I like that Popup 28 but it only comes with a large belt as the biggest size. The MR Mule looks like it may be an option too.

Pretty sure the stone glacier sky 5900. Without the lid in bivy mode it gets down to about 4000 ci. Might have to check with them. Also the avail 2200 has a load shelf

The avail does not have a load shelf but can be attached to a frame that has a shelf.

Have a buddy that flies out every year. He carried on a kifaru timberline 1 several times and now carries on a big Kuiu pack.

He's never had an issue.

I always use my reckoning pack as my carry-on, filled with optics and DSL Camera/lenses.

I just remove all the external pouches and pockets and stuff them inside, then cinch it down tight!

Maybe look into an MR nice frame. Shorter than the guidelight or other brand frames.

I don’t carry on but I take my Metcalf (guidelight frame) inside a north face duffle along with clothes and gear. Optics, batteries and high value stuff go in my carry on. Weapon gets checked in the case. It costs a few bucks depending on the airline but it keeps me from having to compromise on my pack choice.

I would definitely check out the airline you are going to fly. The measurements for carry-ons change for 1 to the next. Also, the weight limits and charges change.

I fly to Alaska to hunt on a regular basis. If you can fly Alaska Air I would advise it! I carry on my Kifaru EMR2 (which is huge loaded) and it fits in the overhead baggage of their planes. I compress the EMR2 so it's close to the max measurements. Alaska Air also allows an extra carry on "bag". I carry on my EMR2 plus a giant camera case loaded with my spotter, cameras, camcorder, etc. It's a royal pain in the rear but I usually carry on around 70 lbs of gear this way. I get a lot of looks in the airport!

Another thing I've learned is to gut the foam in my giant rifle case that is on rollers. I fill the rifle case with clothes, fishing rods, trekking poles, etc. until it reaches the maximum wt. It's nice having a rifle case on rollers so I can place other baggage on top of it for hauling through the airport.
