Air Lock Industries Suppressor

My .02 cents is that if your an ounce counter then wait for the 6, if the little tiny bit of size and weight won't bother you i would get the 6.5... if everything follows suit, the 6.5 on a 6mm rifle might be quieter.
That’s my dilemma. Particularly for my 6ARC. I’m chasing ounces on that one. So I’m just curious how many ounces less the 6mm suppressor will be than the 6.5.

The 6.5 is listed at 5.75oz and the Nano is 3.75oz so if I was a betting man, I'd say it'll land around 4.75oz ballpark. Which would leave you with a 1oz difference.

Obviously a total guess but I cant see it weighing more than the 6.5 or less than the Nano.

This echo's my thoughts as well... and personally once you get down to a 4-5oz suppressor I don't think there is a bad call but for me, I would rather have a touch on the heavier side for an increase in sound suppression since you are already at a super lightweight product specs. For a suppressor that comes in under 6oz and actually works well is incredible!

Is there any truth to 3D printed cans getting dirtier than machined cans? How often should I realistically have to clean the can??

I have not heard that one before.

Realistically, most people will never have to clean a centerfire can. I have heard of people cleaning them whenever they weigh an ounce more than they did when they were new.

I clean my rimfire can every 500 rounds.

I have both, and weigh them when brand new. The OG65 is 7.5oz and the OG-S is 6.3oz

With OG-S on my 6ARC, I thought the first shot was a squib. Got over 200 rounds on it now & haven’t even brought it home haha. Going to do a direct comparison between it & the OG65 on a 6CM sometime in the next few weeks.

If you shoot them on comp guns at all, or at that level of volume, you most certainly should clean them. Amazing how much comes out of a titanium can with some clr after a few seasons of prs.

The reasoning I was told for 3d printed cans getting dirtier was due to
them being rougher in the interior. No idea if this is true just what one of the dudes at the local gun shop was saying yesterday when we were shooting the sht.

I imagine the complex internal geometry that can only be created from 3d printing, coupled with the rougher surface finish, is definitely more likely to trap (and hold) carbon than a few shiny machined disks.

Question on these since they are about to take pre-orders for those who have experience with them:

Are they better than the Unknown Suppressors Reaper? I am pretty strongly considering getting the nano and the 6.5mm. Those two would be less expensive than two Reapers and a bit lighter. Are there any other cans that you would strongly consider for hunting above these?

Better is a totally subjective thing. In my opinion, based on using the ZG 6.5 and OG 6.5, you could flip a coin between them. For the past couple of weeks, I have preferred my OG 6.5.

I don’t think you will be unhappy with either one. I probably would not consider getting two Reapers though.

What rifles are you using them on? And for what kind of shooting or hunting?

Good point on subjectivity. In all honesty I do not need a super lightweight suppressor for the type of hunting I normally do. I like the idea of them though.

The main reason for getting two suppressors is to have a dedicated can for each of the two rifles I have been shooting/using the most lately. I plan to use them more this upcoming deer season.

The rifles are both bolt actions. One chambered in .223 and one in 6.5 CM. I'm wanting to stick with direct thread 5/8 x 24 since that is what the rifles are currently threaded for. Where I usually get to hunt, we commonly hunt out of blinds or short distance spot and stalking. My father-in-law says that while his family has owned a piece of the property since the original Spanish land grant, probably only 15% if it has probably ever had a human foot on it (it's very thick and thorny down there). While that is an exaggeration, it's probably pretty true dating back to at least his parent time.

If I was buying two hunting suppressors for those two rifles, I’d get the OG 6.5 and a Nano.
