Air Lock Industries Suppressor

No one is arguing against that. He is talking about his preference. How can you know his preference better than him?
Ummm, the person I was responding to said "3db isn't cutting anything in half other than #6."

Either way, a lot of people don't understand the difference between linear and logarithmic relationships, and that was the only point I was trying to make.

Also both would be “safe” for about 10 shots. More than enough for a single shot. Do you get less dose with a 3db reduction, sure. But the current theory is keep dose low enough and damage doesn’t occur. So there is a difference in the number of “safe” shots between 130 and 127, but it’s pretty much immaterial for a hunter who takes 1-3 shots.

From what I understand about hearing damage is, it depends. Your genetics, ear canal shape, the sound exposure all can change the level at which damage occurs. Even sub 140 can cause damage, just as some people can handle above 140 without damage. Thus the 140 is not a hard limit for instant hearing damage. Also damage may not show up for years as the methods to test for it are not perfect.

If the suppression “threshold” has been met by the user, then arguing why you should carry 2-3x the weight and double the length to lower a current threshold that already exceeds the majority of the market is mental gymnastics at its finest.

Company / Shipping Update – Black Friday Orders

We’ve shipped a large portion of the Nanos and 6.5s (non-backordered) from the Black Friday sale. After a miscommunication with our printing partner, we now have all of the Black Friday 7s and Nanos in hand.
The 7s are being machined this weekend, and all Nanos are finished and awaiting packaging, Form 3 processing, and shipping.

We don’t make the ½" adapters in-house, and that supplier is slightly behind. We’ll go ahead and ship all Black Friday Nanos, and if your adapter isn’t included we’ll mail it separately as soon as they arrive.

Most of the non-backordered 6.5s are printed. We have one more plate on the way to complete those, and then we will start printing all of the backordered units. We originally estimated March for the backordered ones, so we are still on schedule. The remaining backorders will be printed next week and ship the following week. We’re slightly behind schedule overall but very close to being caught up.

We are in full production and shipping through the weekend and into next week, pushing hard to get as many orders out as possible by Tuesday night.

January 1st orders will begin printing right after the remaining 6.5s. Due to plate ratios we already have some January Nanos in hand, so a few of those will start shipping soon.

My wife is out of state until next week, so I’m currently handling Form 3s and emails, which may slow responses slightly.

Company update:

We’ve hired another employee to help with machining and engraving and will likely add another soon to assist with Form 3 processing. Our new printer should arrive next week, with roughly 30 days of setup, which will help increase production capacity and prototyping.

We won’t release another preorder until we’re mostly caught up on the January orders, but currently have some wholesale orders for Al’s Sporting Goods and Silencer Central in queue. We’ll post here once those suppressors are available and give Roksliders early notice.

We’ll also be heading to NW Hunt Expo in Hillsboro next week and will have a booth there. We’ll be packing up and leaving Wednesday, so from Wednesday through Sunday we’ll still be working but may be harder to reach unless you come see us in person at the show.
