Air Lock Industries Suppressor

How's the ZG stack up against the LTi? Remotely similar, or is the LTi still noticeably quieter?

To me the L Ti is noticeably quieter. Everywhere I shoot someone will come up and ask what my L Ti is because it’s so quiet. Even after a match, multiple RO’s will come up after and tell me that was the quietest can they heard for the weekend and ask for the name of it. I have no doubt ZG could make one quieter in a smaller package if they wanted to though!

Has anyone used these? Sorting through all the comments and can’t find anyone who’s used these in the wild and their thoughts?

The Airlock? I used a Zero Gravity on my 6.5cm this year with exceptional results. It is noticeably quieter and lighter than any of the other K cans I've shot or owned. Any hunting rifle I carry will have an airlock on it until someone finds a way to make something better.

That’s so great to hear, I really appreciate the info. Did you feel it helped with recoil much?

To anyone on the fence about the Airlock design, I will echo what the above poster says. To my ears, the 6.5 Zero Gravity cuts sound as well as my favorite suppressors (Dilligent Defense Wolf Hunter on Tikka .243 and Banish .223 on Tikka .223) while being significantly smaller and lighter. I'm not saying it's quieter, but it's damn close, so the tie goes to the dinkiest can.

How they accomplished this ratio of size to suppression is beyond me. On the website, they attribute it to the patent-pending Vector technology. I wanted to call BS on this so badly, but after using it on a 16-inch 6mm ARC as well as a 16-inch 6mm Creedmoor, I'm a believer.

Gosh this is excited! Thanks! Cants wait to get mine.

Is your 6mm arc a bolt gun or ar15 ? Just curious how gassy it was if an ar15 . I didn’t notice much more gas on my 12.5” 6.5 Grendel .

We’ll eventually implement our tech into a suppressor designed with the goal of being the quietest version possible. Maybe a “Zero Gravity Ultra” or something along those lines. We’d likely offer it in both 6.5 and 30 cal but that's a ways out.
What're the odds this happens by next fall?

What kind of sound difference should one expect between the 7 and the 6.5? Debating on leaving myself the 7 mm option but primary use would be on a 25 prc. On the fence between the two and would love anyone’s thoughts between the two. Only suppressor I have and am accustomed to is the dead air nomad ti currently. Thanks

Its about 1-1.5 dB difference on 6.5cm from their testing. The 7mm with the extra length and baffle being quieter. The difference being an extra 1/2" of can and 0.75 oz, 1.5 DB, I'd go 7mm for more caliber options. This is coming from a guy with both versions. Human ear has a tough time distinguishing between 1.5db.

Can somebody point me toward the post recently where the ZG was sound tested next to the UM can and a few others ? I can’t seem to find it

Big thanks to @DannyB for coordinating with @h2so4 and @sndmn11 and getting a ZG 6.5 for us to mess with tonight in the Denver area.

@h2so4, @grant00, and I were able to partake as well as the shop manager at JJJ Armory in Littleton.

We used 3 rifle hosts. We did full 3 shot comparisons with a 16” Tikka 223 and 20” Tikka 6.5C using the same ammo between cans. We also did a smaller comparison with a 16” Tikka 6.5C.

Cans we compared in the full comparison were:
-TBAC Ultra 5
-ZG 6.5
-OG 6.5
-SiCo Scythe (no it didn’t blow up)
-DD Enticer STi
-DA Nomad LTi
(On the 16” 6.5C we just compared the ZG and OG).

To note, this was in a smaller indoor range. We did take full videos of all three shots on all cans, but in reviewing the footage after the sound of the AC unit was more dominant than the rifle reports and we didn’t feel they did the best job representing how “quiet” the respective cans were.

That said, I think between the four of us listening live we got some good data.

Overall, as with others in this thread, the ZG 6.5 was impressive. Not only for its size, but in general it held its own with the 6-7” cans as well (DD & Scythe).

We all felt the ZG outperformed the U5 on both hosts. We also felt it edged out the OG by a bit too. I personally thought it was close to the scythe but behind the DD by a bit. Surprisingly, we didn’t notice much of a difference with the OG and ZG on the 16” 6.5C compared to the 20” 6.5C.

The OG and Scythe did spark a healthy amount. The ZG did not, which was surprising.

In all, we were happy with how the ZG performed, especially for its size. As a hunting can it will be tough to beat. Finish was awesome and our sample weighed right at 6oz.

Look forward to snagging one in a few weeks. I’m sure the other guys will pile on or dispute anything they disagree with.

If I get time I “may” try and splice the videos together and post, but again it wasn’t as helpful as I hoped.
