Air Lock Industries Suppressor

What specifically crossed the line that you feel questioned your integrity? Objectively, you have chosen to use Presswood for official marketing.

I reached out because you made the open offer in one of these threads to demo your product. That was a cool offer. The question was asked what dates work for you, and your response was a run around with no actual answer. From your posted transparent response, what dates did you provide?

Six weeks ago you needed to check your schedule, and then didn't reply. That fits "radio silent" well. There's a difference between making the effort to come through on the claim and demo and it not aligning yet, and bailing.

I'm hopeful you will come through on sending one out to the SOT I provided to demo, per your idea, I still think it would be cool.

You're really giving off Ignatious J Reilly vibes and it's detracting from an otherwise productive thread about a really great new option for hunting suppressors.

I hope you are able to check one out in person, whether it's with @DannyB or someone else locally that picks one up. I think you'd be impressed.

Everyone should just drop what they are doing during hunting season and let this guy test their Airlock. Jeez sometimes things just don't work out man...

If you have success with the can and share a picture with the company and they post it I guess you are airlock associate or somehow an official spokesperson for the company. Gimme a break

Side note, I have a Air Lock ZG 6.5 and think its a great suppressor for my needs. Its light and has pleasant wooosh sound to it. Shot a nice buck with it and more than pleased.

Using a photo taken by a customer makes that customer somehow a partner for official marketing? I am sure that a very small percentage of people who saw that photo wherever it was posted on official Airlock sites had read his (ridiculous at times) posts on here that prop up the Airlock while bashing everything about the OG.

Debate the merits all you want of a grown man throwing a suppressor in a critters mouth that he just killed either for social media likes, or the brand to recognize him, or both.

I think its a stretch to assume that the guy who took the photo can be considered a representative. Form was involved in the DESIGN of the OG and I have read him deny being a partner with US in any capacity. If you are upset about using a photo for marketing you should go bash US on that thread as well. I wish you luck, you'll certainly receive very few positive comments over there with that opinion.

After reading both threads it sure seems like both guys who operate US and Airlock, respectively, do a pretty good job taking hate on here any replying professionally. Because of that I will buy an Airlock (after a waiting period to prove reliability as I already own a Scythe) but have no reservations about buying a suppressor from US if they come out with one that also suits my needs.

Amen to both these points! All my interactions with Danny and Cliff have been excellent. I want these companies to succeed and sell us all reliable products.

By the way… If that dude up above wants to send me the $900 instead of sending it to Sandman, I’ll purchase an Airlock at the next available opportunity and shoot a thousand rounds through it in the six weeks after receiving it to save everyone else the trouble. And compare it side-by-side with the OG 6.5 I just picked up.

He ran out a compete month for you, said he may be available third week of October. So based off that it was up to you to try and make something that week work. No response from you about meeting up that week means radio silence on your end. I’m sure waking up every day with contacting you about meeting up for a suppressor demo being the first thing on his schedule everyday either. It sounds like that’s the importance you think you need but definitely not reality. If this was that important to you, you could have been reaching out to him more as well…this goes both ways here. Generally the consumer contacts the supplier when they want something. Also, if you had made plenty of efforts to meet up, or had a scheduled meeting and he bailed…then by all means you’d be justified in acting the way you are. But to me it just looks like you’re blowing it out of proportion.

Yeah this all just seems so overblown. I've never expected the owner of a company to fly to me so I could test their product before. Not to mention the sheer number of companies that use customer photos for marketing, I guess they're all on the payroll.

Yes, it's called influencer marketing and guerilla marketing. Find someone willing to be a spokesperson, prop them up officially when it is advantageous, play the deniability card when it isn't. Both scenarios have played out in this thread.

I actually have a bald spot.

Why does a consumer have to chase down a business to try and get them to follow through on something they volunteered? This concept started with an unsolicited offer by the two Airlock representatives within this thread, it wasn't my idea. If it was a joke, or it was untenable, or no longer apart of the Brand's identity, neither were communicated. It was even doubled down on last night saying a demo unit could be sent to a local SOT. One was provided in this thread and via PM. What cadence of reminder would you suggest is appropriate?

Honestly I think the pushback is:
1) some dude posting about it does not = representative. You’re dying on a hill over semantics. Would let that one go. Guy was completely over the top in a few cases but hey, it’s a forum.

2) I mean this is a forum - a small business owner doesn’t “owe” you comms, a test can, or anything if he decides you’re a pain. Frankly with all this I’d “fire” you as a customer because you’re just flaming and will not stop. I’m sure he doesn’t know you. The idea that you’re holding him accountable for something because he said he would TRY isn’t wrong, but you’re acting as if you’re owed something at this point.

I think it’s time to just move on. It didn’t work out - these responses only ensure that at this point.

Time to cliff test suppressors 🤣

To get back on track, what would be recommended for an 18" 25/6.8 western 6.5 or 7 airlock?

Seems the western case would be pushing the 6.5 can?

I had a boat shop mail me a flyer and with my own boat and my own kids and dog in it trying to sell that model of boat to me. It was pretty shocking to see, they lifted it off the internet forums somewhere I'd posted it. They wouldn't want me as a spokesman after that, but I guess I'm officially a spokesman now.
