Air Lock Industries Suppressor

Does anyone else find it funny, that someone can be involved in the prototyping, development, design, and marketing of a product. And then, when questioned about said product, they sit back and say "Dont ask me, its not my product".
No. Common response for disclosure and liability purposes.

Fair enough.

However; if that is the case, shouldnt said company be the one documenting the design/testing, and not the unaffiliated person.
They are, along with trying to keep up with every other aspect of starting/operating a successful business, and meeting all demands.

But this is also a hunting forum driven by feedback from users on gear and equipment. I think there's just some proving of statements made going on. Regardless, I appreciate the data.

I have a couple of what might be common questions for you @DannyB so I figured I'd post'em up rather than DM
. Is it possible to purchase a suppressor(or two) now and hold the transfer until Jan 26 as some other companies are offering?

What happened to the .22cal can? I think it was called the martian, just looked at the website and I don't see it anymore.

Any thoughts on the difference in sound suppression firing 6.5 rounds through the 7mm vs the 6.5mm? the size and weight are so close I might be willing to give up a dB or two for the increased versatility even though primary use would be 6.5mm.

Thank you sir

If Airlock won't, my local SOT confirmed that they can legally hold it for the same purpose. Not sure if that differs by state or not.

They also advised not to do that if you want your can according to current wait times, because of some cuts to IT depts and such at ATF. I personally see '26 being an absolute shit show and log jam, and back to 9 month wait times until they get caught up, or the federal case goes in our favor and suppressors either get removed from, or the NFA gets abolished.

Mine would do the same as well. I agree 26 is going to be crazy for ATF. With no tax stamp people will buy all the cheap suppressors for .22 and pistols that are as much as the tax stamp. Not to mention people making pistols into sbrs. I think we will go back to long wait times. I hope I am wrong but I think they will be bombarded Jan 2026.

I expect I can find a local SOT who will do the same but IME so far they don't really like doing SOT transfers as opposed to suppressor sales from their stock. The fees tend to be significant too but I don't really blame them on either front cause ATF paperwork's a hassle.
I'm sure wait times will go up and there will be a wave of NFA submissions in Jan. Last cans I put on my trust still took around 5months or so to process. and I have a variety of cans to shoot in the meanwhile so I don't mind waiting 6months or more to save $400+ on tax stamps. Be nice to get on that first wave though...

If anyone has any

Good questions, we can absolutely hold your suppressor and ship it to your FFL in December. A lot of FFLs are happy to hold suppressors too, but whatever works best for you is fine.

We removed the Marvin from this pre-order purely for formatting reasons. It’ll be back at the beginning of December so folks can place orders and get them to their FFLs before the new year.

Because of its size and internal volume, the 7mm is actually a touch quieter than the 6.5. It trades a little efficiency for that extra volume, so if you don’t care about the 0.85 oz and 0.5” difference it’s a great option.

Wow, finally getting caught up in this thread.

If you're down on unknown after reading Forms responses and condemning the Airlock ( for a blemished suppressor failing during non rated use) while feinging to be unbiased, read through the OG testing thread. I was completely out on anything unknown makes until the company began responding. They seem transparent, honest and go above and beyond to be the bigger man. My next purchase will be from unknown or airlock depending on how all the (unbiased) testing shakes out.

My statement wasnt towards Airlock, and I am not condemning them at all... his responses here will probably push me towards buying one of their cans next year.

I told US that exact same statement. They are a stand up company that brought me back in with their response. In the near future, I will grab an OG 65 or the Airlock. Haven't quite made my mind up yet.

Not really. Even pretty large companies use non-employees to try out and test new gear. PSE back in the day had a fairly large outside test crew that shot and tested all new and or prototype stuff.

I've been waiting almost 73hrs for my approval email. Pure chaos these days with wait times....

Waiting for an approval is worse than waiting on draw results. Every time I get an email notification I'm sure "this is it!", only to be met with disappointment. After shooting many different cans I swore I'd never buy anything but raptor 8's but here we are. Come on ATF!!!

Well, maybe when you buy that Airlock 7mm version things will go faster for you. :)

I just picked up the Airlock 7mm and will probably grab the 6.5 here shortly. The products seem awesome, but the owners professional response to this thread and testing transparency is what sold me. They have earned my money.
