Air Lock Industries Suppressor

We have a tech scheduled to come out on April 27th to install our in-house printer. Once it's up and running, we’ll begin prototyping on the 6mm.

We don’t have an exact ETA yet, but size-wise we’re targeting something slightly shorter than the Nano, with a slightly smaller OD than the 6.5 and a weight that falls in between the two.

How’s the sound between the two? I’ve seen the airlock video but always curious to hear 3rd party opinions.
Shot the Airlock 7 today on my 7mm08. Significantly quieter than the Evo, like not even close. Also shot my 270 WSM through it, very impressive.

Only con is it gets hot AF quickly. 2 shots through the WSM and the mirage at 18x was tough to deal with (no cover).

I hadn't heard people talk about airlock mirage but I had a feeling it was going to be significant.

Oh its absolutely insane for range use, but there's no free lunch i guess. The suppression is remarkably good regardless of weight...then when weight is taken into account...gypsy black magic

If 10 rd groups are in the cards, bring a couple other rifles to fill your time with while she cools. Think I busted 20 clays at 300 with the 223 and OG six five today haha

Less than 72 hours for my Form 4 approval. That includes a Sunday. I may be shooting my 6.5 this evening!

Wild to think that the approval process is now by far the fastest part of the entire equation lol. I've been waiting 2 months now just to be able to pre-order a couple (I was 7 minutes late on the Feb pre-order lol).

Dreamer:

Help me understand the process. When I do a pre-order from Airlock, do I fill out the forms at my local dealer after they have it? Or is that done when I order it?

Thanks.
No forms necessary to fill out until suppressor is in hand at your FFL
Cannot fill out forms completely until you have a serial number

I haven’t found a significant difference in a single shot trust or individual as far as time for approval. But case dependent

Most people are reporting individual to be significantly faster than trusts. And that’s been my experience.

Is this still a thing? I switched to individuals for my last 6 cans and the approval time has been quick. Do you know the average wait on trusts? My last 3 individuals have all been 2-5 days.

My last two suppressors were done under a trust and took exactly 30 days.

Did you do silencershop single shot or a traditional trust? My experience with the single shot seems to line up more with doing individual (My last two were single shot trusts) But understand not everyone does silencershop

Traditional trust through national gun trust. Thanks for pointing that out as i forgot to clarify

I'm guessing you submitted as an Individual instead of Trust?
Yes. Individual. My shop has a Silencer Shop kiosk but tends to think the Single Shot Trust is a waste of time and money. I'm really not sure.

My ultimate plan is to have a large collection of suppressors and when my kids turn 18 go have a lawyer create a trust for all of us. And no, I'm not sure that's possible. My kids are a ways from 18. Hopefully sometime between now and then, none of this non-sense will matter. Suppressors should come standard with every rifle.

@Shortschaf answered your question.

But to possibly help clarify further:
All you need to preorder from Airlock is a shop that can do the transfer. Airlock will complete a Form 3 to send the suppressor to your shop. You cannot file your Form 4 until you have the serial number from your actual suppressor.

So to order from Airlock, all I had to do during check-out was give them the address of my local gun shop.
