what are yalls thoughts? I had this deer on camera last year and guessed him at 4. Might be rethinking that.

Looking at his belly and neck I would guess he’s 4 now

I’m also in GA for reference. Here’s a buck I passed in 2023 and have been watching since 2023. I’m very confident he’s 6YO as he’s still in the exact same area as the pictures & sightings.

The point I’m getting at is that some bucks grow larger than others. Some mature bucks will top out at 180# when others can and will hit +240# here in GA. Dependent on Food, Age & Genetics.

All that being said, your buck has a full brisket and even length legs front & back. Body appears to be full as well with main beams going to about the nose tip. I’d say he’s mature 4-6 range… but without history, it’s an educated guess.

Both are mature bucks, one is just physically larger and the other has much larger antlers.

I don’t hunt GA so any age guess would be just that, but the 2nd pictured buck looks older to me, just overall shape, back etc.

I have other pictures somewhere I just can’t find him. Last year his belly was much more trim and I guessed him at 3. That’s the thing about some of these deer down here. Some will grow into toads like you said and others will maybe hit 180# at full maturity. Been playing the cat and mouse game with him the last few days with no luck.
