Anyone use or have reviews of the AGC Scout backpack? I know its not for hauling loads, but what are your thoughts-opinions? I have a hunt with a guide, and they say no "framed" backpacks. I guess they do all the work.

I've been interested in one of these as well but can't find reviews anywhere. With one of the pockets used to hold the gun/bow and a water bladder, I wonder how much room is really left for other things. I'm looking at it for a hunt this fall.

I ordered one today. Ill check it out and keep you posted. $164 is about max what Ill spend on a backpack. Ive spent days looking at backpacks. I like the HPG aston house and Kifaru shape charge, but I am not going to spend that kind of cash on a day pack that will get used for a week on a guided trip, and then stuck on a shelf. I use a 19"x12"x6" High Sierra backpack that was from a yard sale. I can fit all kinds of stuff in it, and it was $2. Like I said, this is for a guided hunt, from horses, so no need for me to have a load shelf or meat carrying capabilities.

Let us know what you think. I saw these on AGC's website for the first time a few days ago, and I'm definitely interested in it for scouting and some day hunts, especially out of a treestand for whitetails.

Well my pack arrived yesterday. My first impressions are that its worth every penny. Its sewn nice, everything is well thought out and placed. Even came with a 3L water bladder. Has padding on the back and some on the shoulder straps like my bino harness. It came with the straps to attach my bino harness and i rigged it up. Its awesome, for $165 its gonna be a great day pack. Ill post pics asap

Looking forward to seeing some pictures. Do you feel like there is is enough room in the main compartment even with the water bladder? I'm getting quite tempted to order one.

Why would a guide say no framed backpacks? Odd...

In any event, ACG makes great stuff and I love their bino case. I wouldn’t hesitate to check their scout pack out

Well I pulled the tape out. Here are some pics and rough estimates. The pack will comfortably hold a remington 700 with 2 rolls of paper towels, and a little room. Check out the pics and feel free to ask questions. Definently light weight and big enough for my stuff

Looks like no sternum strap on the shoulder harness? Does it work well without it? also do the male auto lock buckles come with it to mount to the bino harness or do you use the ones from the harness looks pretty nice

Thanks for all the pictures, super helpful. Looks like a nice bag with plenty of options for strapping stuff to it. How low is the bottom strap? Would it interfere with a hip holster?

I think you could use one of the straps that attaches the bino carrier to the shoulder straps as a sternum strap if you didnt have or need a bino harness. I wouldnt run both sternum strap and bino carrier simultaneously, but thats just me

Wow - amazingly detailed post. Thanks guys! I'm trying to figure out if all of my *currently planned* stuff would fit... I'm thinking I may need to get this pack and then figure out what on my list can fit, and prune the rest. Dropping the spotting scope...

What color is that pack? I can't tell if its the ranger green or the foliage. And the 2 are so close looking on their website.

Great write up btw. I'm strongly considering this pack for day hunts and treestand sits.
