Looking at a different stock option for my build. The wait time for McMillan is almost 6 months and I'm a very impatient person. Would AG be a good compromise or am I better off waiting for my McMillan already sent in the order form.

I dropped my rifle in an AG Composite and it shot .25 without bedding. It is the stock that my buddies have started buying. They are very very good stocks. I recommend them first because they are faster and some right now.

That said, I have a McMillan Sentry right now, but it is for the configuration to run a folding AR buttstock.

I personally have not heard anything bad about AG... Nor the McMillan, but have long been aware of their wait times. I'm gonna go with AG Composites when I restock my mountain rifle.

This is going to be for my custom build and I'm very impatient as I said.

Depends on the footprint of the action. 700. Footprint stocks aren’t taking long from mcmillan. Just got one done in 2 1/2 mos. I am a fan of Bansner too. Just got one in 4 weeks. The biggest issue is they require some fitting and paint.

This is going to be a defiance tenacity

I just had a fantastic experience with AG. I had questions, they always answered promptly. Even. Had a nice lady call me to tell me they were finished early and to keep an eye out for my package. Finish was great and fit as expected. Weight was 1/2 oz within advertised. Price was a little better than the others as well.

I recommend AG. My stock I just ordered came earlier than expected and looks great, but unfortunately I ordered the wrong inlet. Customer service is great. Sent it back and I’m waiting for a new one. No extra cost.

I've used both AG and McMillan. 3 AG Privateers and 6 McMillan Edge stocks. Fit and finish and quality on the McMillan is a step above AG.

I am building a rifle at the moment and all that is left is a stock. I went with a Mesa Precision Altitude (made by AG). Turnaround is about 4-6 weeks. What impressed me is that I put a Bartlein # 19 barrel on it and not many stock companies make the configuration I desired/needed. I called Mesa and they had me send the barrel contour blueprint from the Bartlein site. They immediately emailed me back with a "no problem, we will machine your stock to fit your action and barrel for you". No extra charge. It should ship any time, so I am getting excited about finishing this build.

They have great customer service. I called to place an order but realized it was afterhours, and didn't leave a message because I would just call the next day. Pam calls me first thing in the morning because my number had called them. What company has that service anymore?

I can speak for quality as I still have about 4 weeks left, but sure am excited. It is a Privateer for lighter weight but parts of me wishes I went with one of the larger ones. Either way I know it will be great.

I have both, the only thing I don't like about the AG is the lack of texture where you grip the stock. It almost feels chalky/smooth, pretty easy fix though.

Are you dead set on these two? Mesa Altitude stocks are pretty nice as well and around the same price.

McMillan is 3 months out. Just ordered one 2 days ago. Their CS is fantastic in my experience.

I'm going to cancel my initial order with McMillan as I've changed my mind on the cartridge I'm using.

I dont know how it compares but AG will add texture for you as well.
