Is this the one you're referring to, or are there other models? linkIf you can find a used Kowa 663/664 (ideally with the fixed 30x wide angle eyepiece) that is a fantastic spotter that can often be found for under $1k and resold in a year for about what you paid. They were way underrated and are on the very flat spot of the depriciation curve.
Ya, it's hard to argue with a Vortex on a budget. But do remember that if you don't like it, or want to upgrade, it can be difficult to sell them because of their warranty and market saturation.I didn't read the thread but @Travis Bertrand said this is a ton of value and since he wrote it, it's been around for less than $1K
