Hey all. Looking to buy my first AR. I’ve stumbled across a LH Aero Precision Build on gunbroker. Yes I’m LH. What are your thoughts. Can anyone ID the components of this build based on the photos? 800$ plus tax and shipping. Includes the steamlight also. Is that a good deal? Is Aero Precision good?

I liked my Aero M4E1 lower.
Some of the other parts: Troy ambi mag release (~$60), Magpul SL (~$40), ballistic advantage rail (~$100+), YHM 3 port brake (~$40), Streamlight HL-X (~$130), BCM vert grip (~$20), Magpul MBUS gen 3 BUIS (~$100), KAK lefty BCG (~$130), Radian raptor ch (~$100), unknown barrel, gas block, gas tube, upper receiver, buffer system and lower parts. Most likely all mil-spec. ~$1000+ in parts probably.

If you’re specifically looking for a lefty this doesn’t seem like a bad deal.

Like all home builds, sometimes they need trouble shooting (pun intended) so pray it’s not a lemon.

Also, home builds resale market is typically poor as well as the used market in general right now so if the price sounds steep then I wouldn’t do it. If the price seems fair to you then it’s your money.

All of my builds are on M4E1 lowers, they utilize a threaded Allen screw for the bolt catch instead of a roll pin, which makes swapping in an Ambi bolt catch much easier. I'm also a lefty, but all of my guns are right-handed with the addition of an Ambi safety (Radian) and bolt catch (Strike Industries or Geiselle maritime). Resale on a righty gun will be better, and if you're ever in a SHTF moment I'm far more likely to pick up a right-handed gun and want the familiarity in manual of arms. Same goes for someone using your rifle. With an adjustable gas block, you should have no issues with brass or gas in your face.

Back to the gun in question, seems overpriced for a used home-build, especially one where you know nothing about the barrel, BCG, or trigger, the three parts that really matter.
