I’m looking to help my niece and nephews who just lost their father this fall as they were hitting hunting age.

I “built” for fun a Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel with a B&C stock a year or two ago.

The length of pull is long. Is there a way to “youth” this stock, or any synthetic, with adjustable spacers etc?

Apologize if this is a dumb question in advance. I figured I’d ask people before Chat GPT.

If easy enough , I’d probably build a second for the twins.

What about a chassis stock that uses an adjustable butt stock like an MDT LSS.
Or if a chassis isn't your thing, what about a Boyds laminate stock cut down to a length that suits?

Ive never handled a B&C stock so not sure on their suitability to cut down

Looking at the link, the B&C stock has a one-inch recoil pad. If you removed it, would that shorten the stock sufficiently?

You need to figure out what is under the recoil pad on that Bell and Carlson stock. A lot of synthetic stocks like that the recoil pad is simply glued on, and its just a hard foam inside. So figure out if there is anything in the stock to hold a recoil pad screw. My guess is not, at least not enough that would allow you to add and remove pads at will only via the screws. Have a smith cut the stock a half inch shorter than needed right now, and install a spacer that has a tapped insert for recoil pad screws. Or is made of a material that will hold screws by itself. Then just start with a 1/4 inch recoil pad, and as they grow move up in pad thickness. You can add a spacer or two down the road in addition to a 1 inch or even thicker pad, and you’ll be back to standard length or even a little longer. If I was doing the work, I would get maybe two or three pads to start, and just grind to fit all of them, and tuck the two larger ones away for the future.
