I haven't used those exact ones but maybe a previous model that was similar, worked pretty well and last about the same as my northface or salomons

Are you talking about the non-GTX model?

How was the ankle support for heavy loads?

Does anyone have experience with these? They seem very comfortable for hiking/hunting, but my concern is ankle support when packing out an animal.

i have not had that exact shoe, but did have a previous model, and they lasted surprisingly well.... i think ankle support is pretty individual, i elk hunt a lot in low tops and will go as far to say i don't like a lot of ankle support, so take that advice how you want.

i liked the terrex i had more than i expected and for sure hauled some heavy loads in them... more support than the lone peak altra, and way more waterproof, and a better fit for navigating tough terrain.
