So I drew a NV Muzzleloader tag but the only front stuffer I have is a Encore with Arrowhead Brux Smokeless barrel. Is it worth it to try to add sights to this barrel or should I just be looking at a different barrel/rifle for this season?

Asking for yourself or asking what to tell your wife? Always down to help a brother out with "gotta get a new gun, no other choice".
Mrs wind gypsy is more understanding of gun purchases than I deserve! I really like the brux 45 cal barrel and the LRP ignition and doubt I’d get as solid a system if I were to buy something else so adding to existing gun is ideal.

I don’t really get excited about muzzleloaders either so less giddy about anything new.

I’d just drill/tap it for a front sight if I were you.

Wait……..what am I saying? Go buy another. You can’t have too many (This is coming from a guy with nearly 40.)

When I bought my .45 smokeless barrel from Luke I had a dovetail milled in for just that chance of a Nevada tag. I’d have him do that or add a front sight to your barrel and add a peep to your scope rail.

I’ll have to reach out to Luke and get his input. My first barrel from him was dovetailed in the front as well. I think that was an option on the order form previously but I don’t recall it being a selectable choice on this second barrel.

Edit: emailed Luke and saw that in a past email chain I elected to forego the $50 charge for front dovetail..

have you used iron sights on yours? If so which setup did you use?

I’ve got this one…I’ve been delinquent setting it up as I’ve not drawn a tag forcing me to use it…I really like a scope.

It comes with a plastic post to figure out which front sight height to order. I’ve looked at enough guide gun sights to know I like their black and white blade over any post/fiber optic.

Been messaging with Arrowhead a bit. The two options Luke laid out were modifying the gunwerks EXO to make that work or going with a williams rear dovetail peep and lee shaver front sight.

I'll have to look into plus/minus of those options. Does the Lee shaver have options to help with light on lower light situations?
