I see the Adak Harness is up for sale on camofire tonight. Looks like an interesting Harness and I’m interested in trying it against my KUIU. I picked up a set of Maven 11x45s last season and never found a harness that fits them well and allows easy one hand removal like I had with my smaller framed Vortex Razors.

If anyone has one of these Adak systems... any feedback on it? On the off chance someone else has a pair of Maven B2s, hows the fit?

Don't have one but have been watching it as well. The designer posted up in the Gear forum earlier this year and everything I've seen seems positive.

It looks to meet every need I have for a bino harness except for size. In the Gear thread, the designer promised a large version but who knows how long that will take, they are not responding any longer. Hunting season is around the corner and I can't wait that long.

If I knew it would fit my binos I wouldn't hesitate on that deal. My binos are huge so its tough to find a harness. I'm tempted to get the Adak to just see if I can make it work. I don't know the dimensions of the B2s but it sounds like the Adak can fit some good sized binos.

I can barely squeeze a pair of leupod 12x50's in the ADAK. The will fit up to about a 7" 7.25" tall bino. Anything taller and it becomes difficult to open and close. The other thing is depend on the coating on the outside of the binos, you might get a little squeak from the fabric on the binos.
Pocket lay out is horrible, so if you like to carry things in your bino harness don't do it. If you like minimal it will work for you.

I bought one recently. I like minimal. I don't want a bunch of stuff in a chest pack, just binoculars (8x42s) and range finder. I just got home from hunting axis and hogs this weekend, so it was my first time out with the ADAK. I liked it. It's comfortable, quiet, gives easy access to the optics, and keeps them protected. The only two things I'd change if I could would be 1) make it camo; and 2) make the back panel out of mesh (and camo). The tan is not bad, but camo would be better. And mesh back panel would be cooler. That won't be an issue in the fall/winter, of course. But for hot weather hunting, mesh would be better.

Thanks for the comments. Actually, KUIU released a new Pro Harness this morning which looks to be exactly what I’m looking for. I’m going to put one on order.

Full coverage, “quiet”, no magnets, and a unique internal metal wire to adjust the shape of the harness to match the binos shape. One of my biggest issues with the harnesses I’ve tried is the Mavens focus knob is sharp knurled metal so it gets hung up easily. I think this Harness has the ability to change that.

Same here!

Their website say up to small bodied 10x50. I have Maven 12x50. Anyone know if they will fit?

Not sure on the size comparison between the two binos but I have the Maven B.2's like the OP and the Adak does fit them. The binos are maybe slightly taller than ideal but it still works well and provides full coverage and easy 1 handed operation.

My Adak harness fits my 12x50 Ultravids, albeit a bit snug, and a little noise. With the eyecups fully extended, they're slightly higher than the backboard piece. I imagine with some more use, the harness will stretch and fit the leicas a bit better.
