Currently running the original AGC with my Leica 10x42's. Of course it's great and all that. My question is relative to the new Kodiak size and the bungee system. Who's used both and which do you prefer? Buckle vs bungee? Standard compartment vs the smaller model? I really like that solid-as-hell buckle, but if that bungee holds as well, it's for sure quieter and faster than the buckle. How about that MAX pocket? Anyone opt for that?

I have only ran the bungee and like it

Doesn't make any noise and super simple and easy to open or close

I prefer the older 3/4in buckle and smaller harness packs

If running just 42's id be happy with a std size

I got one with a buckle and immediately didn't like it. I swapped it out for the bungee. I went with the max pocket. I think it will be a nice add. The side pockets in the Cub are pretty small. When they add the max pocket, the side pockets also get bigger.

Never had the old model, but I own the new one with bino tether system, bungee, and max pocket.
I wasn't all that sold on the max pocket when I first bought it, but I like it a lot now. I keep some little essential gear in there and it's a convenient storage place.
I much prefer a bungee system. I didn't even consider the AGC harnesses until they came out with the bungee.

Cool. I had an FHF with a bungee and never had an issue. I like my AGC now, but the new design features piqued my interest.

I just got the Kodiak cub with the max pocket, bino teather, and bungee. It fits my Razor HD 10x42's perfectly. I love it so far. Really nice to have the extra storage for short multi hour or day outings where you want to leave the pack at home. I keep smoke in a bottle in one side pocket, lens pen / small snack in the basement pocket, survival stuff in the other side pocket and my vortex range finder fits perfect in the front pocket. I plan on keeping my tags in the mesh pocket in the back when I use it during hunting season. It's super comfortable and the bungee system is legit for quick access and keeping quiet.

Have the regular CUB…. found that has too many pockets for putting too much stuff into. It got heavy! Couldn't imagine another pocket for more stuff… no thank you… not my thing. Pretty rare I'm away from my pack… really rare actually. Survival stuff is usually in a pants cargo pocket anyways.
Just grabbed an FHF ..... liking the streamlined ergo's.
Time will tell …….until my A.D.D. kicks in again and I decide I need something else…..
