Congrats! What an amazing accomplishment. I truly wish that I could have taken my bull in the backcountry as well.

On another note, the mt fwp is proposing a closure to the beattie gulch area of the 385 (Gardiner) hunting district. Their reasoning is to reduce hunter conflict between the native hunters and the state hunters. They are only closing it to the state permit holders. I, along with at least seven other state hunters, would not have killed our bison if it were not for the Beattie Gulch area. Please get on the fwp website and write a comment opposing the closure. If you ever draw this tag, you will want it open.

one very memorable trip to be sure

save the lamps, could have been mid 1800’s

I’ll add one more thing that worked- a small piece of Tyvek to bone quarters- it’s tough, it’s relatively light, the white background helps boning in the dark and not nearly as slippery as polycro, garbage sacks or emergency blankets- would do double duty glassing in the wet (with a small piece of ccf pad). I added a piece to my kill kit yesterday- only weighs 3 oz and probably close to 5’ square
