I'm getting ready to order a couple of suppressors. I've already settled on the A10 for my 308s but am wondering if there a benefit in the smaller 556 version of the A10 for the Tikka 223 vs just ordering 2 of the 30 cal versions.

The weight and length differences are inconsequential for my use case.

Thoughts?

And thanks in advance,
John

I have the A10 on my 223 and really like the combination. I would not hesitate to make the purchase again.
I went Raptor 8 with 5” reflex for my 30 cal can.

I toyed with which one to get as it would be my 22 cal can. Ended up with the 30 cal version as it has 2 more baffles so should be quieter and can handle 30 cal and below. I now use it on all but my 35 cal AR’s.

I have the A10 in 7.62. It’s great. It lives on a 6.8 western and 243. Does better at suppression then my Banish Back country. I would not hesitate to get another AB. They make an A-10 in 5.56 or the bigger raptor.

Do you have other suppressors that you can compare the two AB cans two? I’m curious how they perform compared to competitors.

I have the Alaskan 360 (non Ti) as well, but don’t own or have experience with a bunch of other cans.
I can’t say that I am unhappy with any of my cans. Decibels less, acoustic performance seems good across the board.
Would I rethink the 360 which was my first can if I were buying today, probably, but I have no problem with it truth be told.
The AB cans are super solid for tone and decreased decibels. Would certainly buy both again today.

I’ve shot the Ab a-10, a banish backcountry, banish 30 in the 7” configuration, and aero precision lahar 30l. The 30l wins for reduction follows by the AB and banish 30 (7”) and then the back country. All in a 24 inch 280AI.

I hope to have a polonium 30 to compare the raptor to. Hopefully coming off a back order list after close to 50 days.

Based on what I'm seeing, it looks like the best option would be 2 of the 30 cal A10s.

Is there any advantage in the smaller 556 version of the A10 for a hunting rifle?

It’s smaller and lighter. But at only 5 baffles, I think it might be a bit loud on a bolt action. Imho it’s really designed to go on an AR where a bigger can doesn’t necessarily make it quieter.

The .30 cal has worked well for me on .308/6.5/.223 based. Can’t see a slight decrease in dB making it worth limiting what rifle I can use it on.

Does anyone know how you can actually buy one of these? Every place I look online that seems like a legitimate website has them on backorder.

There is a major difference in tone in an AB raptor 8 and A10/223 version in a 223, but not sure the decibel decrease is significant. I think to have a huge difference you would have to put a 223 front cap on Raptor

With that said I leave the A10 on 223, not enough difference to change out(and I have to use adaptor for Raptor also).

Note again I have 1/2 223 version of A10 not the 30cal 5/8 A10 (30cal has more ribs then 223 version a10)

I think allowing backorder means that production is coming. If you want one I would place it on BO. I BO’d a silencer and it shipped in a few weeks. My take is BO means it’s coming, out of stock means they don’t know when it’s coming.

I took your advice and placed an order. Now time to fill out the paperwork.
