I occasionally get a AARP mailing but never signed up.

Good? Bad?

I looked into this before, and personally did not see a benefit for me. I believe you would really need to be strategic about using the benefits and using them often to truly gain from it over what you can do on your own.

I chose to never join them based on their political views. I don't agree with their non-negotiating "top pay until the last day" approach. I am willing to forego any possible discount that might come with membership. They can't bribe me enough to support their agenda.

Never joined due to their liberal stance. I don't care how many discounts they provide.
But I don't tell others what choices they want to make. Sometimes not even if they ask me….

I'm like most of the other guys who responded, I don't like their political views and their deals/discounts really are for things I don't use or can find better alternative ways to go about or purchase. So, a hard pass for me.
