Yes, that area is secluded for sure. Your truck is probably in Kent. Had it been a bit north, I’d say the Highlands. Know the area VERY well.

Good luck, but it’ll be tough getting your stuff back in one piece. Those bastids....
 
Guys I may have a lead on the stolen machine...Is there anyone in that area willing to check out an offerup ad that looks like it *might* be my Grizzly 700? The year and miles are different but it's offered with no title and it's special edition black like mine.
I called the Renton PD and left an email about this with the officer I spoke with, but I really don't expect shit to get done.
I don't want to endanger anyone. But I need some long distance help on this....

I was going to have my daughter's boyfriend and his dad look at it, they live in Seattle, but he's on her Offerup acct. These mf'ers have my last name from the T100 paperwork and glovebox and probably have looked at our FB acct. They may have seen my daughter's face and know her name. They might put this together with her O.u. acct. Don't want to spook these scumbags.
 
I would advise you to call Renton PD back and have dispatch transfer you to the watch commander ( or whatever they call the head patrol supervisor in WA state). Explain to him or her the situation and what you discovered online.

Offer up is notorious for selling stolen goods as well as setting people up to be robbed. It is best to let the PD handle it. Here is my advise with 25 years of PD experience, speak to the boss and get someone to follow up your lead. Sending an email to the reporting officer will only delay the investigation as he/she gets days off, hours off between shifts, etc. Your vehicle is unique and worth the look from the offer up sale. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Call Renton PD and talk to the boss.

I'll take some of your advice, but unless they have resources to get into the actual profile on OU to find or ID the seller I don't see anything coming of it. BTW...the OU seller acct was opened the day my machine was stolen.
I did call Renton PD about this latest info and to contact the officer I initially met at the theft scene. (He was a quality guy.) The woman at Renton PD told me that he is off until this coming Wednesday, a huge waste of time and opportunity.

Aside from realizing that the Renton area is full of low life mother f*cking thieves, I learned some things from others about AwareGPS and motion sensors to put on your stuff.
I don't know if our stuff will be recovered, but I doubt it, especially the quad; but I've learned how I will protect my stuff henceforth.
Educate yourselves about theft prevention and by all means be fully insured! Thank goodness I called my insurance company immediately after purchasing that bike for comprehesive theft coverage. The indemnity process is a complete pita, but hopefully we won't lose thousands.

If any of you WA boys or gals spot either of these, let me know....

Will keep an eye out, I live out on the peninsula but work near Renton nearly every day. Hope your insurance takes care of you!

Police are usually worthless in my opinion when it comes to stolen goods if the police have to do the work.

Have a friend go look at it and if it's yours have someone dial 911 right away. It's the only way you'll get a timely response from law enforcement.
 
Frank, when my truck was stolen I carpet bombed the internet with info. I received tips from people I didn't know and was able to get in touch with the right guy at the PD. My luck was that it was stolen in spokane but spotted in Newport / Old town. I had a person shoot me a pic and I called the Newport cops....an hour later they told me to come get it in the morning.

Be a pain in their ass and make them remember your situation.....or just be number 05-23145.

Seriously? That would have sucked if your loaded 44 kept under your driver's seat was used to kill someone's wife, child, father, or husband the first, second, or third time you left in in a vehicle that was broken into?!

In every single break in, I had a holstered, loaded .44 magnum, under the drivers seat. That was the first pistol I ever bought, at age 15, and I still have that pistol today, but I no longer keep it in my truck.

Twice I’ve been on hikes and came back to my vehicle to find the window, of someone else’s vehicle, smashed. I am always packing (bear protection), when I go on hikes and I wonder what I would do if I found someone’s, or my, window smashed and the thief in the vehicle. I hope that I would have enough sense to not do anything really stupid, but I don’t know, I really HATE thieves.

I didn’t leave it there, I kept it there, but yeah, your scenario of a thief finding it and using it to kill people would have really sucked indeed. I guess not too much unlike a thief breaking into your home, stealing your firearms, and using them to kill people.

Back in the day (when you naively thought you could actually trust people), my parents hired a former high school classmate of my brother's to paint a couple bedrooms of their house. He did that and stole my father's treasure 1958 Belgian FN Mauser 270 and a Remington 1100. Along with an entire silver dollar collection, etc.

We got the 270 back. He sold the 1100 to some other scumbag in the parking lot of a pawnshop. His parents cried the blues about not calling the cops. Unfortunately, my parents didn't and the kid never learned a lesson.

If you personally need to take a look at it I have a buddy over there with my old cummins pickup that would be able to run and check it out with you, if you made it over to the area.

He's a solid guy. We had some tweakers try to rob us up by Spirit Lake (Hoodoo mtn area is tweaker heaven) when we went to the peoples house to look at a "rebuilt" small block. Good thing he had his .357 open carried. Still sketchy as hell.
