A quick question about the Cargo Panel

Great thread. I have been considering buying the new Kifaru hunting frame and CP for my Lone Wolf as well.

Hey guys, I just saw this thread. We have an extended season here in Ga for some counties. I was in the woods yesterday. I highly recommend the lone wolf stand. It carries great in the cp. I had a summit, and it caught on every branch I passed.

I have nomad and lid with a cargo panel and have combined all of them at once for tree stand hauling. I have two fixed lone wolf stands with climbing sticks I carry at once, so I don't know how it would haul a climber, but I'd be shocked if you couldn't do it.
I closed up the nomad wings and put the stands (seat facing down) on top of that. CP went underneath with the lid over the top, with a couple of straps holding it tight to the bag.
I have a grab-it but the CP just works better when you are trying to carry something that bulky. Plus I use the cargo panel solo for sandbag training. It works very well for that purpose.

I carried both my LW Assault and Sit'n Climb with the $18 compression strap kit and it worked great. The K clip from the straps attaches to open webbing loops on the frame, run them up through the stand, clip together and cinch.

When my pack was still on order I saw the compression strap kit on Kifaru's website. I called and spoke with them and they said it would work to hold stands just fine. I don't really see a need for a grab-it in my setup. I could see situations where a cargo panel would be nice but not for this setup.

Here is a photo of my Alpha hang on and sticks attached to my pack. I generally run my sitn climb more but I don't have any photos of that attached, it works equally well. As with any setup you have to put a knee on the stand to compress the pack some so you can get a good cinch on the straps to keep it from swaying side to side.

Ok I see. I misunderstood you. I thought you were just strapping the stand right against the frame without a bag or anything and I was just wondering why you wouldnt want some pockets. Nice set up

Quick update, I ordered a cargo panel with the dry bag and an ultralight tactical frame yesterday. Now the wait begins. I want to get a guide lid and some pockets also but was a little short on the funds. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll post up some pics when I get it put together.

Well the ultralight is cheaper and I read a few post where people that bought the tactical frame we're glad they did because of the extra attachment points. That's basically it. I'm a southern whitetail hunter and don't anticipate carrying any super heavy loads in the near future. I'm excited to get my hands on my first Kifaru pack. I'll have a ULA Catalyst in multicam for sale if anyone is interested.

I am definitely getting a Kifaru setup I'm just on the fence as to what one. Hunting platform and CP. or same frame and Thar. Or same options with tactical frame and arrows? So many good options. I don't think I can go wrong. Every time I think I have it figured out I watch another video or read another thread that has me considering different options.

Yeah I finally just decided to go for something. I don't think you can go wrong on the frames since you can change the stays and if you don't like your bag you can switch that around to. Seems like a pretty cool system. Way different than conventional osprey and Gregory packs.

Grab it (Rhino den)
Long pocket (Rhino den)
