It is an interesting concept but everyone would need one for it to work and that doesn't seem very likely or efficient.

IMO the device needs to be smaller so you can hide it within the camera discretely and it needs to be remotely turned on by way of satellite eliminating the need for other tiles or devices to help locate it.
