A Hunter's Bachelor Party

My friends and I aren't big partiers so we always talked about doing something like a spring bear hunt for a bachelor party instead of the usual Vegas trip etc.

Has anyone done anything similar? Any other outdoor-centric bachelor party ideas?

I did a steelhead fishing trip for my bachelor party. I am not too into fishing but we as a group are very into hunting. By going fishing we were able just to have a great time outdoors, no stress like there can be at camp some times on a elk or deer hunt. We were able to get a little rowdy and no one was around to tell us not to by camping out in the middle of Idaho somewhere.

Buddy did a pheasant shoot at a game ranch with planted birds. It was a lot of fun.

A spring bear hunt is a great idea!

My College roommate was getting married after we all graduated so 4 of us took a trip to Canada for geese and ducks. It’s a good hunt where you can visit and cut up the whole time as a group. Definitely a good time.

We’ve done hunting and fishing bachelor parties. Fishing has been more fun for me. You don’t wake up early and you drink like the fish you are trying to catch with no worries.

I hunt and fish all the time so my favorite parties have been just renting a cabin or house near a lake. Kayak or boat, relax, fish and little and a gentlemen’s club at least one night if not all.

I've done a couple fishing ones....Rented a charter for a day. For mine it was literally just me and my groomsmen and we went trap, skeet, sporting clay shooting all day. When I was younger it may have been a bit different but at 32 kinda over that whole scene for at least 10 years.

For me and my friends a bear hunt or other big game hunt would have just been another hunt. A chartered fishing trip or similar would be more of a relaxed group activity that you can half ass and just have fun with.

For my bachelor party, a small group of friends and I backpacked into a high mountain lake for a few nights. We hung out, hiked, and fished the days away. It was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Fishing/backpacking/bird hunting all sound nice, good way to BS and hang out without being too serious about a big game hunt.

Did fishing on the coast for mine. Took a guide out one day and the rest kayaked out lines thru the surf...for another did a cabin for trout fishing and did a float one day

Solid. Did the same for almost all of mine, bonus points if near a casino, golf course or sporting clays place. The amount of alcohol consumed in my group basically eliminates any activity before 9 am.

High fence pig hunt is a good one.

I am by no means a high fence guy.

I actually hate it.

But it's a pig...and it's fun no stress not too serious ect. Should be a lodge and bunks for you to drink at at night

I’ve been on a high fence hog hunt, pheasant hunt, and fishing charters. They were all a great time but the hog hunt was probably the most fun. We all chipped in for the groom to shoot a Watusi.

I have planned 3 different outdoors related bachelor parties. 1 high fence hog hunt and 2 fishing (walleye/white bass) trips. The fishing trips were a lot more enjoyable imo. We set it up with the guides to fish from 10am-5pm both days and set up a scheduled bathroom/snack break at 1pm. A bunch of hung over guys on a boat can get rough without the break in the middle. Fishing and lodging worked out both times to about $300 per person. Glad to offer guide info and lodging info via PM if you're interested.

Have done a steelhead trip and an offshore fishing trip. Seems like there is always a non-hunter in the crew... at least with fishing they get a great day on the water. Steelheading nobody gets seasick either.

Good point on the non-hunter in the party. Big game hunt might not be everyone's wheelhouse.
