A BIG Pronghorn Antelope

My daughter Gracie drew an antelope tag this year. She is a freshman in high school, so she has a lot going on with school and sports, but we were able to get some time to go out and try to find one to put her on. We have lots of antelope in our area, but not a lot of big ones. To this day I am still amazed at this buck we found and so happy that she was able to get him on the ground. One of the best hunts I have ever had with one of my kids.

Great video, thanks for sharing! Rifle details, range? And I mean this sincerely, was it easy getting permission due to the youth hunt or more that you knew the ranchers? And I agree wholeheartedly that the worse they can say is no!

A little of both for sure. I knew them, but wouldn't call myself a friend, more of an acquaintance and they know I am local, which helps..... a lot.... But don;t think for on minute that I am ashamed to use the kid card!!!! LOL On of the best ways to go about it for sure, and I will shamelessly plug my kids to get them access every time!

So I put a tape on him and he was a little under 76". He has 15 3/4" lengths, and good prongs, but his mass, while decent, wasn't crazy.

My oldest daughter ended up killing her buck a couple days later and it actually scores closer to 79" and is slightly bigger than Gracie's even though his lengths are shorter but he had just crazy long prongs and huge mass measurements. (I'll be posting that video soon). Gracie was a little bummed that she didn't hold the biggest buck. I told her that regardless I would still shoot her buck 10 times out of 10 if they were standing next to each other because hers just looks huge the way his horns splay out and how tall they are. He just looks tremendous. That made her feel better lol
