Check out this stud that Blake Adams shot at 998 yds with his 300 Norma improved/245 gr Berger lrht combo I built him. Perfect shot and baseball size exit hole. Blew lungs out the exit. This combo is the ultimate long range hunting setup for a light rifle. Spotting hits isnt a problem and ballistically its like sending a 300 gr berger at 3050 fps. Congratulations and awesome shooting man.

Why not get closer?
Because a lot of times you don't have time to get closer. Your over a half mile away. Go down the the mountain and then back up and try and locate the deer and hes gone. Or you could lay down and know that when you pull the trigger that hes dead. Blake puts in a pile of time practicing at long range after he dials his rifle in. And a 245 gr LRHT berger going 2950 tells the wind to piss off as it sails towards the target. Blake and I were down in texas with a few of my other buddies a couple years ago. We had just finished filling all our aoudad tags and we spotted a rock at 1910 yds that was the size of elk vitals. My first, second and third shot hit it with my 300 Norma Improved and 245 bergers. Only shot 3 times. Everyone including the guides were amazed at how well the 245s cut the wind. Blake shot his aoudad at like 550 yds with my 300 NMI. 10 ringed it also. My other buddy grabbed my 300 NMI and smoked a aoudad at 750 yds. Blakes killed a pile of game with his 300 nmi and 245s.

Sounds like a challenging hunt........
He has 17 days scouting while being 15 hours from home one way. He did two scouting trips. Hes several miles back in. So its safe to say he puts in more time and work than 99.99% of the people on this forum that don't know their ass from their elbows.

That rifle has to be 11-12lbs set up like it is…definitely not light weight. Lol
7.5 lbs without optics. 10.0 lbs with optics. Any lighter and your not spotting your hits in field positions which is critical. Especially if you don't have a spotter. This is one of the rare times that he had someone spotting for him as the guy had already filled his tag. Every pound you shed on these rifles is 10% more recoil. The rifle balances absolutely perfect and recoils straight back. You can watch the vapor trail. Lighter rifles will hop around and you won't shoot it consistently at distance or spot your hits. If it doesn't recoil consistently then your groups at long range won't be consistent. Just something to think about when building a long range rifle. Which most rarely do.

You don’t know that…I love it when sponsors make stupid posts and act like dipshidiots. Awesome for business!

If 99.99% of the people on here don’t know their ass from their elbow why are you posting here? Just trying to get some views from us dummies?
