Check out this stud that Blake Adams shot at 998 yds with his 300 Norma improved/245 gr Berger lrht combo I built him. Perfect shot and baseball size exit hole. Blew lungs out the exit. This combo is the ultimate long range hunting setup for a lighter rifle. Spotting hits isnt a problem and ballistically its like sending a 300 gr berger at 3050 fps. Blake did two scouting trips and a total of 17 days scouting on public land locating this buck and one other that was quite a bit bigger. This area was 15 hours one way from his house. Congratulations on all the hard work and awesome shooting man.

Good to see the 245 LRHT’s doing work, hell of a shot! Any clue what those are leaving his muzzle at?

Blake is one of the better killers and definitely the best shooter I’ve ever hunted with. He must’ve made 10+ trips out doing 1100 yard checks on his rifles in anticipation for a long shot based on how the terrain in this area laid out.

It was a crisp morning, with a 1MPH left to right thermal draft. Could only really see it with a wind puffer. 1.1 MOA left wind hold and 20.5 MOA elevation. Remember it like it was yesterday lol. Literally could not have been a more perfect shot. I’m genuinely proud to call him my friend and hunting partner.

Great report and very interested to see the terminal performance. Genuine question, not trolling in any way - why the lrht over the EOL Elite Hunter?

I have a load developed with the 245 EOL bullet in my 300 Norma. I am getting 2820fps from a 26" barrel using AR2225 powder (Retumbo in the US). I am in Aus and we cant get the Vit high Energy powders over here

Stud buck and some excellent shooting. Sounds like that guy puts in the work to be effective at long range.

Long range is all about understanding your limitations and the odds of a good outcome. Congrats to the hunter on a beautiful buck

Great buck! It’s nice to see some kills with the larger cartridges on rokslide. I find myself spiraling down the small cartridge blackhole, but I’d also like to build a big 30 cal wind bucking beast some day!

My other good buddy just killed a great buck at 1005 yards with a 28 Nosler shooting 180 hybrids at 3100fps. Perfect shot. DRT.

Bigger, faster, gooder. Or whatever they say lol

Awesome! I have a 28 nosler built by HCA, shooting the 195 bergers. With that said I’ll be hunting with a 6.5 creed suppressed tikka this year lol.

I have a 7-300 Norma shooting 195’s at 3175fps. I still used my 6.5-7 PRC with 156 Berger’s. It shot so good, I just had confidence in it. It worked great.
That’s impressive! My 28 nosler in right around 3020 fps. I haven’t got to big into the wildcat world, but I’m a huge fan of the 6.5 prc.

Great shooting and great buck. Also good you are shooting something besides pea shooters!!!

The bc on the 245 lrht is substantially higher than the eol. The lrht is a .846 and the EOL is .807. Based on results from a bunch of customers and myself the 245 lrht is devastating on game.

@huntnful Steve why am I not surprised you are involved with this? 🤣 heck of a buck, tell your buddy congrats. Now it’s your turn!!
I'll let him know! I killed already actually. We're back home now. Just not sharing anything this year. But since my hunting partner got shared anyways, I had some great photos to go along with the post!

Great shooting and great buck. Also good you are shooting something besides pea shooters!!!
What!? Yes, I was wondering why he wasn’t using a .223 with a 77TMK. Not a TRUE Rokslider!
Hahaha he's not on rokslide. But he was killing elk with a 6mm before it was mainstream on here. He loves the 243 AI and 105 Berger and killed a bunch of stuff with the combo. But also appreciates the BC, hit rates, and potential trauma of the bigger stuff as long as you get a good rest.

We both have 6.5-7 PRC's shooting the 156's into small groups. I committed to using to mine for the hunt. He couldn't haha. His 300 NMI was just so consistent at the range, and we knew the shots could be long. So he committed to the 300 NMI and made a great shot with it.
