Thinking of buying a box of 95 grain TMKs or Bergers for my 6 arc AR. 108 eldms are shooting ok. But from what I understand the 95 TMK is softer. Also thinking about Berger classics as I've had a lot of luck with Berger.

From what I've read and talking to Avery the Sierra has a slightly more forgiving opening window under 1800 fps.

With my AR shooting 108's around 2500 fps 1800 gets me to 500. Which isn't bad at all. Fits my needs. But wouldn't mind a little more.

Nvm...

Went and read the last few posts on the 6mm thread. Looks like Form likes the 95 tmk and no one online had any in stock
They were available for like 20 minutes last week and sold out. Sierra posted on their socials that they are making more but they are so disorganized it could be months before we see them in stock

Dang it man. Also was thinking a 95 grain ballistic tip.

Might also try some different powders. Trying to stay away from ball powders. Varget seems to be good. But it's slow. But compared to my 6 UM everything is slow

Might try some Leverevalution then figure out what the temp variation is for 4DoF.

NBT would be good. But if you are hand loading anyway - 103 eldx work great as well.

Honestly inside the 6ARC’s velocity/range window for hunting I think concerns about temperature sensitivity for Leverevolution are overblown. Maybe I’m wrong and at 400 yds a 40-70fps difference will matter but I doubt in a gas gun that would be more than 2SD from mean.

I like more velocity so I shoot leverevolution.

Thanks. Gunna send it. Think n550 would get me a little more too.

Problem I've noticed with this cheap Shaw pipe is it's super picky. Wouldn't shoot factory 108's. Maybe it was just the lot. I can get 108s to fly with varget. Maybe just the powder in that lot of Hornady was a no go.

Might just scrap this barrel next year.

After reading the 223 thread I might just go to a 22 arc since I've already got the bolt and mags.

Might do a PVA or something a little higher quality.

I am going through the same thought process but between the 95 tmk and 95 nbt for my 6arc and/or my 6 creed. I have some 95 tmk being delivered later this week and have the nbt on hand. I am leaning tmk but have concerns with the qc/consistency with what I’ve seen from sierra lately. (Ignoring the availability issues sierra has been going through)

On paper the tmk seems to be a great choice.

I know the nosler was the best bullet I used in the 243 in my Fudd days. Had others that lost deer or were very lack luster.

Did I hear somewhere that the newer SSTs are actually really good? The wife shot a mulie buck a few years ago with her 243 and it was a show. Can't remember all the details but the bullets just seemed to "explode" on the shoulder. I know now that's highly unlikely. But at the time it seemed like they weren't getting into the chest cavity.

I know it’s more spendy, but my proof barrel has been perfect. I have ballistic advantage barrels in 300BO and 223 that have been great too.
