9 twist 22-250 recommendations

I think the 62gr ELD-VT has the 75gr ELDM profile, so you'd probably want a 1-7 twist for that bullet. Most 69gr match bullets would probably be a better fit. Or just try the 53gr VMAX, it's BC is better than the 60gr VMAX or the 55gr VMAX.

I also tried the 62gr ELD VTs and couldn’t find anything that worked too well but I am by no means an expert at reloading, I have only been doing it for about 4 months now. From what I’ve read those are extremely long for a 62 gr bullet and need an 8 twist to stabilize. Seems like some guys with a 9 twist can make it work and some can’t.

If you have a particular bullet you want to tune I'd try a different powder if varget didn't work for you. N540 would be a good one to try, seems like Vitavouri has been good about keeping their stuff one the shelves. Another is H380, it was Hogdons favorite powder for the 22-250. The charge weight is in the name because he saw the best accuracy with 38.0 gr, I don't recall what bullet size that was with though. I've had really good luck with 53gr v-maxs and Benchmark as well.

I think you’ll like the 53gr vmax a lot if you like the 55, slightly better bc. I think a 62 is worth a shot but it’s considered marginally stable worth a shot for $25

Based on the talk of wind though it seems like you want the highest bc you can get and still have it stable. If I was going to throw my hat in the ring on one bullet for this I’d try the 69tmk
