That 260 is an origin but I also have a tikka that could be used haha.
I had to buy two of the 22 GT Tikka barrels to make the group buy work. If these 88's shoot as good for me as it looks like they are shooting for others, I may just get rid of some other 22 cal guns and just do 22 GT and 223 but before I do that I'm going to try and compare the 88 TMK in the 22 ARC (22" and 16"), 22 GT (20"), and 22CM (22" and 20") to see how they compare.

dont count out a 22 dasher or 22 bra. I am loving my 22 dasher so far. hell even a 22 br would be fantastic. feeds wonderful even with lighter bullets from an mdt 6br mag

Glad to see this info, thx.

Just got an order of 88 Sierras that I'm planning to load w Varget. 223 Rem barrel is 17" and 1:7, bullet seating at .025" off will max out the longer MDT magazines. Looking forward to shooting these bullets!

For the shorter barrel 22CM guys, anyone tried RL26 yet? Last summer I started loading 80 eldX for my 22CM and settled at 45.4 grains and 3,500 fps mv. Extremely accurate/same vertical poi at any charge, went as high as 45.9 with no pressure @ 3,590+ fps. Barrel is 22 inches and 1:8.

Anyway, RL26 for 88s in a shorter 22CM w 1:7s makes sense to me.
Not with 88 tmks but I took my 95smk load to 3150 without pressure signs. Took the 88 eld to 3250. 18inch barrel on a Kimber which tends to show pressure. H1000 showed pressure at 2850 and 2930 respectively with those 2 projectiles in the same gun. I havent found pressure with rl26 but velocity had me concerned enough to back off a fair bit as speed was still good. Ive got enough RL26 to see out this barrel.

Unless you want all the speed, I think you will like the GT. My 6gt might be my favorite gun currently. It just hammers.

Looks good... Assuming 1:8. Care to share your DA or Altitude?

Speed isn't everything. I'm looking for an accurate load with little work up without pushing for speed. If the 88's don't work, I will try the 80.5 Fullbore. More speed than the 22 ARC and more barrel life than the 22CM is my first priority. Long life and easy load maintenance.

I tried the 88s in two different rifles this morning.
22 creedmoor with 7.5" twist bartlien finished at 20". With 39.0 grains of H430 the average was 3003 fps with no pressure signs. Just under .6moa 5 shot group. This was some hornady brass, id expect a little more speed with my normal alpha.

22 GT with 7" twist bartlien finished at 20". 36.0 grains of H4350 gave me 3025 fps, no pressure signs. Accuracy wasn't great, about .8 moa for 5 shot groups.
This gun is a sub .5 moa 5 shot group gun with hornady 88s. Probably need to play with seating depth a bit for the TMK.

Overall, they look very promising. I'll stretch the 22 creedmoor out at distance with them later in the week.

Is it pretty typical for the GT to produce the same speeds as 22 Creed if all the parameters are the same?

Not really. A slower burning powder is more suitable for the 88s in the creedmoor. I just had h4350 in the dispenser and loaded a few up.

Also, I'd be very willing to bet the GT load is running at higher pressure.

I have a 2nd 20" 22 gt barrel for that rifle and it shoots 100 fps slower. I kind of think the 22 gt bartlien is just a fast barrel.

Does anyone have a cut-away photo of the 88 TMK?

Also, does anyone have a suggested recipe for load/powder for running it in a Tikka with an 18" PBB barrel? I'm looking for something to start with that is the easy button.

Edit: 22CM. I’m an idiot for leaving that out.
