800 yard hunting scope. Simple FFP for wind, dial for elevation?

100%! Highest magnification I’ve used to take a shot on game is 6x or 7x

For some reason I always find myself towards the top end of the scopes magnification range every time I take a shot - even with my 4-32 NX8. I always run the zoom while looking through the scope at the target since I am always hunting with the scope on the lowest power and its easier to locate the animal, but without fail I zoom that sucker up to or close to full magnification every time…
