Went through a lot of arrows trying to bare shaft tune at a long length and high poundage.I don't even know if you could find arrows if you shot 80lbs. You prob have to source use up telephone poles and just cut the ends off.
Gold tip velocity 300s are the ticket.
On paper, they aren’t supposed to tune, but they easily bare shaft tune for me, with 100,125,and 150 weight heads.
My favorite setup is a 425 grain arrow at 338 fps. (Lyft)
The Hoyt is a little faster, but I shoot the Lyft better.
FWIW, the Lyft only looses 8 fps going up to a 450 arrow, so it’s fast becoming my favorite.
Heavy is good.
Fast is good.
Heavy and fast is great.
We all chase performance in some aspects of our lives. Whether it’s horsepower in vehicles, or bows, or boat’s etc etc.
needed? Nah.
But is fun.
I will add, I love gettin pass throughs.
