I saw some boxes at sportsman's warehouse over the weekend. You might check there and cabelas. Not sure if same ownership means they have the same product suppliers, but I assume they do

If you have any Sportsmans Warehouse near you they seem to have the American Whitetail ammo in stock pretty regular lately. Supposed to be decent ammo from what I've seen posted.

Thanks for the help I might have to call Spokane store.
1 member here is checking to see if he has a couple boxes to spare

I have been checking online and gunbroker fairly frequently for the past 2 months.

It’s basically $40+ bucks and nothing available but the American Whitetail, Hornady lite, and Norma softpoints.

Honestly don't know , he will be hunting whitetail in North Idaho for this year. a box of practice ammo for trigger time and get used to the Gun and a box of good hunting ammo

The ammo I posted above is a bit pricy but it's great ammo that shoots good in my wife's gun. Good luck if you are bargain hunting. The closer it gets too season, the fewer options you will find. If you want ammo, buy what's available.

Can't say for certain what I have, but can look tonight. Haven't shot my 7-08 since pre-Covid, so don't remember the inventory. PM me if still need some.

When desperate I have been using Ammo Seek to locate some. Prices are pretty high with some of the sources.

Hornady's American Whitetail, using the 139 grain Interlock bullet at about 2800 fps., is a great all-around load for the 7mm-08 and is capable of everything up to and including elk at reasonable ranges. It's also typically the most affordable factory load you'll find. I see it in stock around here now, for about $26/box.

Sorry. My inventory is pretty low. Only 3 boxes left and will need those for a hog hunt being planned. Thought I had more.

This stuff just works and is reasonably priced. Deer, elk, antelope, doesn't matter, passthroughs on all.

Thanks for the generous replies. We now have a box of practice ammo so he can get familiar with the rifle and a box of premium hunting ammo
