Has anyone run N565 in the 7mm Weatherby mag. I’m having a heck of a time finding any data. I emailed Vihtavuori a few months ago and have got a reply. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Use their 7mm rem mag data as a staring point

Thank you. I might be SOL. They don’t show any info until you get in the heavier bullets for 565. I was hoping to run the 150 Eldx bullets do to the twist rate of this older rifle.

Did you ever end up running 565 with the 150s? I also have an 80s Japanese MKV that I have had a heck of a time reloading for and came across this post

I did but the 150 Eldx was a dud. Honestly the only thing I could get to shoot worth a darn was the 120gr Barnes TTSX. The throat is a mile long so I figured I’d try Barnes knowing they can handle a lot of jump. I need to try a few more things and I’ll circle back around to the 150’s. The barrel is full length bedded so I will remove that and try some more cup and core bullets

Bummer to hear that. This weatherby was passed down from my grandfather before he passed. He used it for elk for years, always said it shot very well. I have never been able to get more than 2 rounds to group with an inch without the third throwing by 2-3". No matter how long I let the barrel cool. The only factory loading I have never tried is the 150 Scirocco, and I struggle paying $100 for something that may again be a dud. I will have to try the TTSX, however I was really hoping to shoot something higher BC'd that actually would surpass my short 6.5 PRC. I'm sure that 120 is pretty damn flat to 400 though.

I will be interested to see your results. My 80s MKV is one of my favourite rifles and I love the look of the cartridge and the performance, but I've also struggled a bit with really good accuracy. I am considering full length bedding it.

I've had pretty good results with N560 and would like to try N565.
